Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DJI Osmo 360 / Osmo Action 5 — 3.87V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BCX204-1950-3.87)
This is a 3.87V, 1950mAh (7.55Wh) Li-ion cell for the DJI Osmo 360, Osmo 360 8K, and Osmo Action 5 cameras. It matches OEM part numbers BCX204-1950-3.87, CP.OS.00000370.01, and CP.OS.00000441.01. The physical dimensions are 44.25 × 34.30 × 12.00mm — confirm these against your original cell before fitting.
- Osmo 360, 360 8K, and Action 5 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol. One cell format covers all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Osmo Action 5 body. The BMS handshake completed on first insertion, and the camera reported battery percentage without cycling the power.
- First-use charge cycle on the Osmo 360: Insert the new cell and charge it to 100% through the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. Some DJI BMS firmware versions require one full in-body charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps correctly to the new cell's discharge curve.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Osmo 360 display
This happens when the camera's BMS is still mapping its voltage thresholds against the old cell's discharge curve. A fresh Li-ion cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity slope than a worn original. The camera reads voltage correctly but translates it to an incorrect percentage until it learns the new curve. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles through the camera body, and the indicator will stabilise.
Osmo 360 showing a dead battery icon with a partial charge in the cell
The Osmo 360's BMS uses a low-voltage cutoff threshold — if the cell rests below roughly 3.0V per cell after storage, the camera refuses to boot and shows the dead battery icon even though the cell is not fully discharged. This is a protection state, not a failed cell. Connect the battery to the OEM charger for 10–15 minutes before reinserting it into the camera body. Once voltage recovers above the BMS acceptance threshold, the camera will power on normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Osmo 360 shows "no battery" or won't recognise the replacement cell at all — what's causing it?
The Osmo 360 runs an authentication check on insertion. If the cell voltage has dropped during shipping or storage, the BMS rejects it before the camera even attempts to read the chip. Pull the battery, connect it to the OEM DJI charger for 15 minutes, then reinsert it. Once the cell voltage clears the BMS acceptance floor, the camera recognises it normally.
The shot count on my Osmo Action 5 is noticeably lower than I expected from a 1950mAh cell — is the battery faulty?
It's almost certainly not the cell. The Osmo Action 5 draws heavily from the stabilisation processor, 4K+ sensor readout, and continuous autofocus simultaneously — that combined draw exceeds the load assumptions behind most published shot counts. Cold ambient temperatures compress discharge capacity further on any Li-ion cell. Run the camera in a stable 20–25°C environment with stabilisation off and check draw again before assuming a capacity fault.
The Osmo 360 body gets noticeably warm during sustained 360-degree video recording — is that the battery or the camera?
Both contribute, but the camera is the larger heat source. The image processor, dual-lens sensor array, and stabilisation engine run at sustained high current draw during continuous 360 recording, and that load heats the body independent of the cell. The battery will also warm slightly under sustained discharge — that is normal Li-ion behaviour at this draw rate. If the camera shuts down, check that the vent area is unobstructed and let the body cool to below 35°C before restarting.
