Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DJI Ronin RS4 Mini — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HX724-3100-7.2)
This 7.4V, 2600mAh (19.24Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the DJI Ronin RS4 Mini three-axis camera gimbal. It slots directly into the RS4 Mini's battery compartment and powers all three brushless stabilisation motors. Cell dimensions are 66.20 × 37.00 × 19.00mm — matching the original form factor.
- RS4 Mini motor system: The RS4 Mini runs three independent brushless motors — pan, tilt, and roll — simultaneously. Each axis draws current on its own load cycle, and peak draw spikes when all three compensate during aggressive camera movement. This pack's BMS handles the combined overcurrent signature the RS4 Mini produces under those conditions.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the RS4 Mini's full initialisation sequence and monitored BMS response under combined three-axis motor load. The protection circuit held stable voltage delivery through rapid pan-and-tilt transitions without tripping into overcurrent lockout.
- Balance before powering on: Balance the gimbal with your camera and lens attached before switching the unit on. An out-of-balance load forces all three motors to run at elevated current continuously — this raises average draw well above spec and can trigger BMS cutoff mid-use.
Gimbal motors cutting out during aggressive pan on a new battery
When all three axes correct simultaneously — particularly during a fast pan with a heavier lens — combined motor peak draw can momentarily spike beyond what the BMS will allow. The protection circuit trips into overcurrent lockout and the gimbal shuts down to prevent cell damage. This is not a faulty battery. Re-balancing the rig for the specific camera-lens combination reduces the per-motor correction load and eliminates most trip events. If cutouts persist after balancing, check that the RS4 Mini's motor strength setting in the DJI Ronin app is not set higher than the payload requires.
Stabilisation drifting or softening before the battery indicator shows low
Voltage sag under simultaneous three-axis motor draw can pull the supply rail below what the RS4 Mini's motor controllers expect, even when the fuel gauge still reads mid-range. The gimbal responds by reducing motor torque output — visible as slow drift or a softening of stabilisation response during active moves. This symptom appears earlier in a battery's life when cells have aged through shallow-cycle use without full discharge. Running the pack to the low-battery warning before recharging, rather than topping it off after every short session, keeps cell capacity calibrated and reduces sag.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RS4 Mini powers on fine but the motors cut out the moment I do a fast pan — is the battery the problem?
This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. When all three axes correct simultaneously during a sharp pan, combined motor peak draw can spike past the protection circuit's threshold and shut the pack down. Re-balance the gimbal with the exact camera and lens you're shooting with — even a small imbalance forces constant elevated motor current that pushes the battery closer to its trip point. If the cutouts stop after proper balancing, the battery is functioning correctly.
The gimbal feels less stable and the horizon drifts, but the battery indicator still shows plenty of charge — what's happening?
Voltage sag under simultaneous three-axis load pulls the motor controller supply rail low before the fuel gauge catches up. The RS4 Mini responds by reducing motor torque, which shows up as slow drift or reduced correction speed during active movement. This happens earlier when a battery has been repeatedly topped off after short sessions without ever running to the low-battery warning. Run the pack down to the low-battery indicator before recharging — this recalibrates the cell's usable range and reduces mid-session sag.
The RS4 Mini won't complete its initialisation sequence after I swapped in the new battery — it just rocks back and forth and stops.
The RS4 Mini's IMU calibration routine at startup requires stable, consistent power delivery from the first second of operation. If the battery contacts are not fully seated or the terminal voltage drops slightly during the motor self-test, the initialisation loop fails and the gimbal stalls. Remove the battery, clean the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and power on again on a flat, vibration-free surface. If the unit still fails to initialise, check that the replacement battery is reading at or above 7.2V at rest before insertion.
