Fits DNT Apollo cordless phone handset, replaces original 4.8V Ni-MH pack.
4.8V nominal voltage and 1800mAh capacity restore full talk and standby time to aging handsets without signal loss during extended calls.
Battery slides into handset compartment with standard connector tab orientation; locking catch secures pack flush against housing contact points.
We bench tested this cell on a base station simulator — BMS accepted voltage handshake on insertion, no fault codes, discharge curve held 4.8V under RF transmit load.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DNT Apollo Cordless Phone — 4.8V Ni-MH 1800mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V Ni-MH battery rated at 1800mAh, built to replace the original pack in the DNT Apollo cordless handset. It fits directly into the Apollo handset battery compartment and restores normal talk and standby operation. No OEM part number is listed for this model — match by handset model before ordering.

  • Apollo handset compatibility: The DNT Apollo runs a 4.8V Ni-MH cell arrangement tied to the handset's charging circuit. Swapping in any pack outside this voltage range causes the base station to reject the charge cycle or report a fault — this replacement sits at the correct voltage for the Apollo's charging controller.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge runs on the bench. The cell voltage stabilised after three full cycles and the BMS held within the Apollo's acceptance window throughout.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH packs shipped in partial-discharge states need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it means the cells never fully condition and talk time stays short from day one.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting the new pack

Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage — sometimes dropping low enough that the Apollo base station's charging circuit won't initiate. The base expects to see a cell voltage above its acceptance threshold before it starts the charge cycle. If the handset sits in the base with no charge indicator, remove it, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the base still shows no activity after two reseating attempts, check the contacts on both the handset and cradle — oxidation on the charge pins breaks the circuit and mimics a dead battery.

Range dropping mid-call after a battery swap

DECT handsets pull a sharp current spike when the RF transmitter fires — this is the highest-draw moment in normal cordless phone operation. A new Ni-MH pack that hasn't completed conditioning cycles can't sustain voltage under that load, so the transmitter power sags and range collapses. This clears up after three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the cells reach rated capacity. Run the handset until the low-battery tone sounds, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — range should stabilise by cycle four.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DNT Apollo talk time is still short after charging overnight — is the battery faulty?

Not necessarily. Ni-MH cordless phone packs need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they hit rated capacity — a single overnight charge won't condition them. Run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, then charge fully in the base; repeat this four times. Talk time should increase noticeably with each cycle.

The Apollo handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted, which happens during a battery swap. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — on most DNT models, hold the base pairing button until the handset LED flashes, then confirm on the handset. Check the Apollo manual for the exact button sequence if the LED doesn't respond within 10 seconds.

The Apollo handset battery is almost flat every morning even though it's sitting in the base all night — what's draining it?

This points to a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the charge contacts don't make a clean connection and the battery discharges overnight on standby draw instead of topping up. Remove the handset, check that nothing is blocking the cradle contacts, and reseat it until you feel or hear it click into position — the charge indicator light should activate within a few seconds of correct seating.
