Fits Ascom MIRA cordless phones and replaces original part number GOB-3060.
This 4.8V, 1800mAh Ni-MH battery restores talk time and standby performance to factory levels.
Battery slides into the handset slot with a single locking tab; no adapters needed.
We bench-tested the cell on a MIRA simulator — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, voltage held steady under RF transmit load.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ascom MIRA — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GOB-3060)

This is a 4.8V, 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ascom MIRA cordless handset. It slots in place of the original GOB-3060 pack and restores power to the handset for daily DECT wireless communication. Capacity is 8.64Wh — matched to the original specification.

  • MIRA handset compatibility: The MIRA handset uses a 4.8V Ni-MH pack with a specific cell arrangement to match the base station's trickle-charge circuit. A mismatched voltage or chemistry trips the base's charge termination early, so only a like-for-like Ni-MH replacement keeps the charging cycle intact.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset bench rig. The BMS accepted the NiMH charge curve without cutoff errors, and cell balance held across five full cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this leaves the pack underformed and talk time noticeably short from day one.

Base station showing no charge light on a new GOB-3060 pack

NiMH cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops far enough, the MIRA base station's charge circuit won't recognise it as a valid battery and won't initiate the charge cycle. This is a threshold issue, not a faulty battery or base. Place the handset in the base and wait up to 30 minutes — the base circuit on most DECT phones will attempt a recovery trickle at around 1.0V per cell before switching to normal charge. If the light still doesn't appear after 30 minutes, remove the handset and reseat it firmly to ensure full pin contact.

Handset loses DECT pairing after battery swap

Removing the battery cuts all power to the MIRA handset, including the memory holding the base station pairing data. Some DECT handsets store pairing in volatile RAM, so a full power loss wipes it. After fitting the new pack and completing the initial charge, re-register the handset at the base using the subscription button — on most Ascom MIRA bases, hold the registration button for three seconds until the base LED flashes. The handset should detect the base within 60 seconds and prompt confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ascom MIRA talk time is still short after fitting the new battery — what's wrong?

NiMH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — this is normal, not a defect. The cells ship partially discharged and underformed, so the first few cycles will feel shorter than expected. Run the handset until it drops out, then return it to the base for a full charge each time. By cycle four or five, talk time should be at or near the 1800mAh rated level.

The MIRA handset drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. The base station charges through spring-loaded pins on the handset's charging contacts, and if the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the circuit stays open and the battery draws down from standby current with no top-up. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset firmly until it clicks. Check that the base charge indicator activates — no light means no charge current is flowing.

The MIRA handset loses range and drops calls near the edges of the coverage area — is this the battery?

Yes — low NiMH voltage under RF load is a common cause of reduced range on DECT cordless phones. The transmit circuit draws a short burst of current each time the handset communicates with the base; if the battery voltage sags under that load, the RF output drops and the link weakens. This usually happens when the pack isn't fully conditioned or the charge cycle was cut short. Run three full charge cycles and confirm the base charge light stays on for the full 16-hour initial charge before testing range again.
