Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE 2-5110 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5-2682)

This 3.7V, 500mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original pack in the GE 2-5110 cordless phone handset. It fits directly in place of OEM part 5-2682. The cell measures 33.30 × 27.20 × 7.70mm and restores normal handset operation when the original battery no longer holds charge.

  • GE 2-5110 handset fit: The 2-5110 handset uses a compact Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches the OEM voltage and connector orientation, so the handset BMS accepts it without a firmware conflict.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GE 2-5110 platform. The BMS accepted the pack immediately, reached full charge voltage at 4.2V, and held standby draw within normal range.
  • First charge after install: Li-Polymer cells ship at partial charge from storage. Place the handset in the base cradle for a full charge cycle before first use — the GE 2-5110 base charges at a low current rate, so allow the full cycle to complete rather than pulling the handset early.

Talk time shorter than rated after replacing the GE 2-5110 battery

A fresh Li-Polymer cell from storage often delivers below-rated capacity on the first one or two cycles. This is normal — the cell's electrolyte needs a few full charge-discharge cycles to reach its rated 500mAh. Run two or three complete cycles by using the handset until it signals low battery, then returning it to the base for a full charge. Capacity typically stabilises by the third cycle.

GE 2-5110 handset not pairing with base after battery swap

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which can erase the DECT pairing stored in volatile memory. The handset then powers on with no registered base and will not ring or connect calls. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — on most GE DECT models this means pressing the base locator button for five seconds until the handset enters pairing mode. Once paired, place the handset in the cradle and confirm the base shows a charging indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GE 2-5110 battery drained completely overnight in the handset — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

A fully charged Li-Polymer cell should hold standby charge for several days when the handset is seated correctly in the base. Overnight drain in the cradle almost always means the handset is not making full contact with the charging pins — check that the handset clicks down flush and the base shows a charging light. If the handset is left off the base, standby draw will deplete a 500mAh cell faster than expected. Reseat the handset firmly and confirm the charging indicator stays on.

The base station shows no charge light after I installed the new battery in the GE 2-5110 — what's happening?

Li-Polymer cells stored for extended periods can sit below the base station's charge-acceptance voltage threshold, so the base sees the pack as unresponsive and shows no charge activity. Place the handset in the cradle anyway and leave it for 30 minutes — most GE base units will trickle-charge a low-voltage pack until it rises above the threshold, then switch to normal charging. If the charge light comes on within that window, the pack is recovering normally and will reach 4.2V on a full cycle.

The GE 2-5110 handset drops calls or loses the signal earlier than it did with the old battery — why?

RF transmission in a DECT handset draws a sharp current spike. When a Li-Polymer cell is below roughly 3.5V, that spike causes a voltage sag that the handset interprets as low battery and reduces transmit power to protect itself — which cuts range. This happens most often during the first few cycles when the new cell has not yet reached full capacity conditioning. Run two full charge-discharge cycles and check whether range improves; if sag persists after three cycles, confirm the replacement cell voltage reads at least 4.1V off a completed charge using a multimeter at the battery terminals.
