Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dolphin 7600 / 7600 II — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (7600-BTXC)
This is a 3.7V, 3200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Dolphin 7600 and 7600 II handheld barcode scanners. It replaces OEM part numbers 7600-BTXC, 7600-BTXC-1, and 7600-BTEC. The pack fits directly into the battery bay and communicates with the scanner's onboard power management circuit.
- 7600 and 7600 II compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the 7600 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly, protection thresholds triggered at expected voltages, and the scanner's charge indicator responded normally throughout.
- First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: After fitting the new pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a complete charge cycle before use. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell sits near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack prevents a false BMS trip on the first burst of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a fresh pack
A charging error on a new battery almost always comes down to contact resistance at the dock, not a fault in the pack itself. Dust, oxidation, or a slight seating gap between the pack contacts and cradle pins is enough to break the charge handshake. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then press the scanner firmly into the dock until it clicks. If the error clears, the pack is fine — the dock contacts were the problem.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The 7600 draws from the same cell to power both the wireless radio and the scan trigger simultaneously. During rapid scanning, that combined inrush can pull voltage low enough to cause the radio stack to drop momentarily. This is more common when the battery is partially discharged, because internal resistance rises as the cell depletes. Keep the pack above 3.6V before starting a high-volume session to keep both the radio and imager within their operating margins.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dolphin 7600 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the scanner powers on but the laser or imager doesn't fire reliably. What's wrong?
The imager and laser need a minimum voltage to fire correctly, and a new pack sitting at storage charge may not supply it immediately. Seat the scanner in its cradle and charge the pack fully before use — we saw this exact behaviour during bench testing when the cell was below 3.5V on first install. Once the pack reaches full charge, the scan trigger draw stays within the imager's operating range and reads should return to normal. If the issue persists after a full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.
The scanner runs noticeably warmer than expected after a long shift in the warehouse. Is something wrong with the battery?
Warmth during extended warehouse shifts is normal — the 7600 housing encloses the battery, wireless radio, and imager in a compact space with limited airflow. Sustained scanning combined with constant wireless polling keeps the cell under continuous draw, generating heat inside that enclosure. The BMS will cut off the pack if temperature exceeds its protection threshold, so if you see unexpected shutdowns rather than just warmth, the cell is reacting correctly. Between shifts, remove the scanner from its holster and let it sit open in the cradle so heat can dissipate before the next charge cycle.
The new battery doesn't last as long through a shift as the old one did when it was new — could this pack have a lower capacity?
This pack is rated at 3200mAh, which matches the original 7600-BTXC specification. The more common cause of shorter shift endurance is scan burst frequency — high-volume scanning sessions combined with active wireless polling draw significantly more than light-use patterns, and the difference becomes obvious when workload increases. Check whether the wireless polling interval on the unit has been shortened recently, as tighter polling cycles increase background radio draw even between scans. If endurance is still lower than expected after two full charge cycles, the pack may not have been fully conditioned — run two complete charge-to-empty cycles through the cradle before drawing conclusions.
