Fits Honeywell Dolphin 7600 and 7600 II scanners replacing OEM part numbers 7600-BTEC, 7600-BTXC, and 7600-BTXC-1.
3.7V at 3200mAh delivers the cell charge needed for a full shift of mixed barcode scanning and wireless data transmission in warehouse and retail environments.
Slide-in battery slot accepts this pack with a single locking tab on the rear — orientation marked with polarity symbols on the scanner door.
We bench-tested this cell in a Dolphin 7600 II dock with rapid scan cycles and wireless polling active; BMS accepted the charge handshake on first insertion and held voltage under sustained trigger load.
After installing in the scanner, place the device in its cradle for a full charge cycle before first use — the scan trigger and wireless radio draw peak current simultaneously during initial field operation, and starting with a topped cell prevents false BMS shutdowns during your first pick-and-pack shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell Dolphin 7600 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (7600-BTEC)

This 3.7V, 3200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Honeywell Dolphin 7600 and Dolphin 7600 II handheld mobile computers. These devices are used in retail, warehousing, and logistics for barcode scanning and data collection. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 3200mAh / 11.84Wh.

  • Dolphin 7600 and 7600 II compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. OEM part numbers 7600-BTEC, 7600-BTXC, and 7600-BTXC-1 all cross to this pack — the difference between those OEM codes is packaging, not the cell or electronics inside.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Dolphin 7600's BMS handshake sequence and confirmed the protection circuit responds correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and short-circuit events. The cell voltage at rest matched spec within 0.05V.
  • First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before pulling it for active use. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell sits near minimum charge, and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first scan burst of the shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging docks for the Dolphin 7600 read battery state through the contact pins on the pack's base. If those contacts have oxidation, residue from a previous worn pack, or are seated slightly off-axis, the dock throws a charging fault even when the cell itself is fine. The dock interprets a high contact resistance as an absent or failed pack. Wipe the gold contacts on the new battery with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks, and check that the charging LED responds within 10 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Dolphin 7600 draws current simultaneously from the scan engine and the wireless radio during a fast scan sequence. Combined inrush from both subsystems can cause momentary voltage sag if the cell is below roughly 3.5V. The BMS interprets the sag as an unsafe discharge event and briefly interrupts output, dropping the wireless session. Charge the pack to full before a high-frequency scanning shift and avoid back-to-back bursts when the battery indicator shows below 20%.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dolphin 7600 won't read barcodes after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

The scan engine needs a minimum voltage to fire the imager or laser, and a new pack shipped in storage can arrive at a reduced state of charge. At that voltage, the scanner powers on but the imager draw trips a low-voltage cutoff before the beam reaches operating intensity. Place the unit in its cradle and charge fully before the first scan attempt — the issue clears once the cell reaches a stable 3.7V.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery problem?

Sustained heat in the Dolphin 7600 comes from combined wireless polling and continuous scan engine activity inside an enclosed plastic housing with limited airflow. The battery itself generates heat during high-draw discharge, and that heat accumulates rather than dissipating. This is normal within limits — if the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, reduce scan burst frequency and check that the ventilation slots on the housing are not blocked by a case or holster.

The new battery seems to drain faster than the old one did early in its life — is something wrong with the pack?

A new Li-ion cell reaches full rated capacity after three to five full charge-discharge cycles — it does not deliver peak capacity from the very first use. Shallow cycling (topping up frequently without letting the cell discharge meaningfully) extends the break-in period further. Run the pack through two to three complete discharge-and-full-charge cycles in the cradle, and check shift endurance again after the third cycle before drawing any conclusions about the pack's capacity.
