Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod C500 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIBR160)
This is a 3.7V, 2250mAh Li-ion battery for the Dopod C500 Windows Mobile smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers LIBR160 and 35H00082-00M. Install it when the original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day of calls and messaging.
- C500 platform fit: The C500 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack with a standard three-contact connector — positive, negative, and a thermistor line the charge IC uses to monitor cell temperature during charging. This replacement matches that connector pinout and cell geometry exactly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the C500 platform. The onboard charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags, and the BMS held cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold without tripping prematurely under screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: The C500's fuel gauge IC learned the old cell's discharge curve over months of use. After swapping in a new cell, run one full discharge to near-empty, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. This gives the fuel gauge a clean reference curve for the new cell.
Why the C500 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The C500 runs a coulomb-counting fuel gauge that builds its capacity model from previous charge and discharge history. When you replace the cell, that stored model no longer matches the new cell's actual discharge curve. The gauge reads from a stale baseline, so it can report 40% remaining on a cell that is close to cutoff voltage. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle overwrites the old model and brings percentage readings back into line.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Dopod C500
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under peak load — typically when the modem transmits or the backlight is at full brightness. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge shows a percentage that does not reflect actual remaining voltage. The phone's hardware undervoltage protection cuts power the moment cell voltage dips below roughly 3.0V, regardless of what the OS is displaying. Complete one full calibration cycle as described above, and confirm the shutdown stops occurring before attributing it to a faulty cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Dopod C500 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent cell damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone should respond normally. If the screen still shows nothing after an hour on the charger, check that the battery connector is fully seated.
The C500 feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat in the first few charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The C500's charge IC pushes a constant current into the cell, and a higher internal resistance means more energy is lost as heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for the first two or three full cycles and should reduce as internal resistance settles. If the phone is too hot to hold comfortably against your palm, remove it from the charger and let it cool — a mild warmth is expected, sustained heat is not.
The battery percentage on the C500 keeps jumping around erratically — it shows 60%, then drops to 15%, then climbs back up without charging.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and has not yet established a stable reference. Until it completes one full cycle, the coulomb counter interpolates from a model built on the old cell, producing erratic readings. Run the phone down until it shuts itself off from low voltage, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. After that single cycle, the percentage display should track smoothly without large jumps.
