Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod C730W / C730 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIBR160)
This is a 3.7V, 2250mAh Li-ion cell for the Dopod C730W and C730 smartphones. Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions and connector pinout, so one SKU covers both models. Capacity is rated at 8.33Wh — matching the original LIBR160 specification.
- C730W and C730 compatibility: Both the C730W and C730 use the same battery cavity (54.13 × 40.57 × 10.84mm), the same three-pin connector, and the same BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between models requires no adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a C730W unit. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault flag, held voltage above 3.6V through mid-discharge, and reported a clean charge termination at 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: The C730 series uses a basic coulomb counter that calibrates against the cell's discharge curve. On first use, run the battery from 100% down to automatic shutdown without interruption — this gives the fuel gauge IC one full reference cycle against the new cell before you rely on the percentage readout.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the C730W
The C730W's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve, not the replacement cell's. When the new cell reaches its actual voltage cliff — typically around 3.5V — the phone cuts power before the gauge reads zero. The gauge still thinks 20–30% of capacity remains because its internal map doesn't match the new cell yet. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a full charge to 4.2V resets the reference and stops the early cutoff.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on first charge
A freshly installed cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The C730's charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, generating more heat than you'd see on a worn original battery. This is normal for the first one or two charge cycles and diminishes as the cell's impedance drops. If the compartment stays hot after three full cycles, check that the battery is seated flat — a slightly raised cell increases contact resistance at the connector pins.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dopod C730W won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage, a hard cutoff to prevent damage. Plug the phone into the wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to push the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold before the phone will respond. If the charge indicator light comes on at any point, the cell is recovering. Once the phone powers on, run a full discharge-to-shutdown cycle to recalibrate the fuel gauge against the new cell.
The battery percentage on my C730 jumps around erratically — sometimes gaining 10% while I'm using it. What's wrong?
The coulomb counter inside the C730 is still running its internal map against the old cell's discharge curve, not the new one. When the new cell's voltage at a given state-of-charge doesn't match the stored reference, the gauge corrects erratically — jumping up when load drops, then falling fast under screen or modem draw. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 4.2V without interruption. That single reference cycle gives the fuel gauge IC a clean map to work from and the erratic jumps stop.
The C730W gets to 100% on the indicator but drains noticeably faster than I expected compared to the original battery — is something wrong with the cell?
The original battery was likely a worn cell holding well under its rated capacity, so the comparison baseline is lower than it should be. A new 2250mAh cell will actually outlast a degraded original in real use, but if the fuel gauge was calibrated to a small effective capacity, it can misreport charge levels and make the phone feel like it drains faster. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown cycles before judging drain rate — after that the coulomb counter will have a current reference and percentage drops will track actual capacity correctly.
