Fits Dopod C800 and C858 smartphones; replaces OEM part numbers 35H00078-02M and HERA160.
3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge cycles to aging C800 devices with degraded original packs.
Connector seats flat against the battery contact strip with no locking tab; orientation marked on device housing.
We bench-cycled this cell on a C800 motherboard; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion without fault codes.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-to-shutdown cycle before heavy use — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod C800 / C858 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (35H00078-02M)

This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Dopod C800 and C858 Windows Mobile smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers 35H00078-02M and HERA160. If your original cell no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly, this cell restores full electrical capacity to the device.

  • C800 and C858 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a C800 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault, charge IC engaged correctly, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without error flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable any power-saving fast charge mode and complete one full discharge-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on these Windows Mobile devices calibrates its coulomb counter against the actual discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage readout to drift off early.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Dopod C800

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. When the modem radio or display draws peak current, an aged or uncalibrated cell cannot sustain the voltage rail above the BMS cutoff threshold — even if the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The BMS trips and the phone cuts out. Completing one full discharge cycle to 3.0V and recharging to 4.2V forces the fuel gauge IC to remap its curve to the new cell, which eliminates most false-floor shutdowns.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the C800 stores a discharge model calibrated to the original cell's impedance and capacity. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC's coulomb counter reads incorrectly until it is reset. You will see the percentage jump 10–15 points in either direction, especially under screen or radio load. Discharge the phone fully until it powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the fuel gauge IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dopod C800 powers off the moment I make a call, even with 25% battery showing — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The modem radio pulls a short burst of high current when a call connects, and if the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, it cannot predict that voltage drop accurately. The BMS trips the cutoff before the real state-of-charge reaches zero. Complete one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — this recalibrates the coulomb counter and the problem stops.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery slot during the first charge on the new cell — is that normal?

Yes, and it is specific to the first charge cycle on a new high-impedance lithium-polymer cell. The charge IC applies a slightly higher voltage to push current into a cell it has not yet characterised, which generates more heat than normal. Temperature should drop to its usual level by the second full charge cycle. If the device stays warm after the third charge, check that the battery contacts are fully seated and making clean contact with the bay terminals.

The Dopod C800 will not power on at all after the replacement cell sat in storage — how do I recover it?

If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V in storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging to prevent damage to a deeply depleted cell. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on — most charge ICs on these devices run a low-current trickle recovery mode that brings the cell voltage back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, allow a full charge to 4.2V before powering on.
