Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

O2 XDA Terra — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (35H00078-02M)
This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the O2 XDA Terra Windows Mobile smartphone. It replaces a depleted or failing original cell and restores normal operation for calls, messaging, and applications. Voltage and chemistry match the original spec exactly.
- XDA Terra fit: The Terra uses a slim Li-Polymer pack with a specific connector pinout tied to the device's charge IC and fuel gauge. This cell matches that pinout and the 3.7V nominal rail the BMS expects — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, standby draw, and active GSM load on the Terra platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle without interruption.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages.
Why the XDA Terra reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Terra's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC interpolates percentage from voltage readings calibrated to the old cell, so readings can be off by 15–25% until recalibrated. One complete discharge below 10% followed by a full charge corrects the stored curve and brings the readout back in line.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't recalibrated and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the percentage display indicates. Under GSM transmit or screen-on load, current draw spikes and voltage sags — the BMS trips the cell offline even though the display still shows charge remaining. It's not a faulty cell; it's a calibration lag. Force a full discharge to near shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — after that cycle, the cutoff and the displayed percentage will align, typically above 3.5V at the low end.

Frequently Asked Questions
My XDA Terra won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell due to self-discharge below the 2.5V per-cell protection threshold. Connect the device to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS releases the lockout. If the charging indicator doesn't appear within 45 minutes, try a different USB cable and charger before concluding the cell is unrecoverable. Recovery typically begins once cell voltage climbs above 2.8V.
The battery percentage on my XDA Terra jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 30% a few minutes later without heavy use.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve after replacing the old one. The coulomb counter is still using the learned model from the previous cell, so voltage-to-percentage mapping is inaccurate until it collects real discharge data. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — use the device normally until it shuts down automatically — then charge straight to 100% without interrupting. After that single cycle the IC locks onto the new curve and erratic jumps stop.
The XDA Terra feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?
Some warmth on the first one or two charge cycles is normal with a fresh Li-Polymer cell at higher impedance. The charge IC pushes constant current into a cell that hasn't yet settled to its operating impedance, generating slightly more heat than a broken-in cell would. If the device is hot to the touch or the back panel bulges, stop charging immediately — that indicates a fault. Mild warmth that disappears after two or three full cycles is not a concern.
