Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro 332 / 332GSM — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HARE)
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original HARE battery in the Doro 332 and 332GSM. The Doro 332 is a senior-focused basic mobile phone with simplified controls and essential calling and messaging functions. Fit is direct — same voltage, same OEM part number, same form factor at 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.60mm.
- 332 and 332GSM compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions and the same HARE part number. The voltage rail and connector are identical across these two models, so one cell covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 332 platform. The BMS handshake completed without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to low-voltage cutoff thresholds during discharge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC in the 332 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle lets it map the new cell's actual capacity before trusting the percentage readout.
Why the Doro 332 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The 332 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity by counting charge in and out of the cell — a process called coulomb counting. When you swap to a new cell, the IC still holds the old discharge curve in memory. Until it runs one full discharge-charge cycle, it maps current charge level against the wrong reference and reports inaccurate percentages. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. One full cycle — drain to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — resets the reference and restores accurate readings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a call, when the GSM radio draws a short burst of current. At that load spike, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still shows 20–30%. It is a voltage cliff, not a capacity fault. The fix is the same full recalibration cycle: let the phone discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After one cycle the gauge IC sets a more accurate low-voltage warning point, usually above 3.4V, and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Doro 332 shut off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. Under GSM call load, the cell voltage can dip sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold even when the gauge still reads 25% — this is a voltage cliff caused by the fuel gauge IC still working from the old cell's discharge curve. Run one complete cycle: let the phone drain to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle the IC recalibrates its low-voltage reference and the premature shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically after I installed the replacement — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC in the 332 uses coulomb counting to estimate charge level, and it is still referencing the discharge profile of your old, degraded cell. With a new higher-impedance cell installed, the counts no longer match the voltage curve, so the percentage reading bounces. This is not a hardware fault — it corrects itself after one full uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle, which forces the IC to remap its reference against the actual new cell. Do not top up mid-cycle; let it run to automatic cutoff, then charge straight to 100%.
The phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first one or two charges is expected. A new Li-ion cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes a little more voltage to drive current in, generating low-level heat. Temperature should stay well below 40°C and drop off after the first full cycle. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC trips and stops charging, check that you are using the original Doro charger — third-party adapters that exceed the rated input current will overheat the cell before the BMS can respond.
