Fits Doro 160, 360 DECT, and 22 other Doro cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk and standby performance across Doro DECT models.
Connector slides onto metal contacts inside handset battery compartment; no locking tab involved.
Bench testing confirmed BMS accepts charge at 500mA without fault codes on standard Doro bases.
After installation, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro 160 / 360 DECT Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Doro 160, 160 DECT, 360 DECT, 60, and more than 20 additional Doro cordless handsets. It restores talk time and standby operation to handsets where the original cell has lost capacity. Dimensions are 45.90 x 31.20 x 10.70mm — verify this matches your handset bay before installing.

  • Doro 160 and 360 DECT platform: These handsets share a common battery bay geometry and a 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH configuration. The base station charges at a trickle rate matched to this chemistry — swapping to Li-ion is not possible without a charging circuit mismatch.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Doro 160 handset. The base station accepted the battery without error, and the BMS reached full voltage on a standard 16-hour trickle charge from a depleted state.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handset batteries: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. Ni-MH cells shipped in a partially discharged state need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it shortens the usable charge window on early cycles.

Talk time shorter than rated after first charge

Ni-MH cells don't deliver full capacity on cycle one. The chemistry requires three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its rated 700mAh output. If talk time feels short after the first charge, run the handset until it cuts out, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat this cycle three times. By cycle four, capacity stabilises.

Base station showing no charge or error light on new battery

Ni-MH batteries discharged below approximately 3.0V during storage can fall outside the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid pack is seated. The base may show no charging activity or flash an error light rather than a charge indicator. Remove the battery, let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes, then reseat it firmly in the handset and dock it again. If the base still does not respond, use a compatible charger to apply a brief trickle charge externally before returning the handset to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Doro 160 has much less range after fitting the new battery — calls cut out further from the base than before. What's wrong?

Range drops when the handset's transmit power sags under RF load — this happens when a Ni-MH cell is still in its first couple of cycles and voltage dips as soon as the radio draws current. Complete three full charge-discharge cycles first. By cycle three, the cell holds voltage more firmly under load and range returns to normal.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery. How do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some Doro DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is completely lost. Re-register the handset through the base station's pairing menu — on most Doro models, hold the paging button on the base for five seconds, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset to re-register.

The handset is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base. Is the battery faulty?

This is a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset contacts don't make solid contact with the base cradle, the base doesn't charge and the handset runs entirely on the battery through the night. Remove the handset, clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light appears on the base within 30 seconds.
