Fits DXG-517V, DXG-125V, DXG-535V, DXG-533V and 21 additional DXG compact camera models; replaces OEM battery type NP-40.
3.7V, 1100mAh cell delivers 4.07Wh — matches the original capacity for standard photo and video shooting without capacity loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery door; orientation marked on the cell; no mechanical locking tab required on this camera body.
We bench-tested the cell in a DXG-517V body; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and showed stable voltage discharge through a full photo sequence.
On first use, charge this cell fully inside the camera body or OEM charger before extended shooting — the DXG BMS calibrates capacity display during the initial charge cycle from the device.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DXG DXG-517V / DXG-535V Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in DXG compact digital cameras including the DXG-517V, DXG-125V, DXG-535V, and DXG-533V, plus over 21 additional models in the same family. It matches the original voltage and physical footprint, fitting the battery compartment without modification. Capacity is rated at 4.07Wh.

  • DXG-517V / 535V / 533V compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail. The connector orientation and cell thickness — 9.50mm — are consistent across the family, so one cell covers the full range listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on DXG-class camera bodies. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and voltage output held steady through the discharge curve with no premature cutoff events.
  • First charge on DXG body: Run the first full charge cycle through the camera body itself, not a third-party charger. Some DXG BMS implementations map the battery-remaining display against a charge profile recorded during the initial in-body charge. Skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly throughout the cell's life.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the DXG-517V display

The DXG-517V maps its battery indicator to specific voltage thresholds tied to the original cell's discharge curve. A new Li-ion cell discharges slightly differently across the mid-range, which can cause the indicator to jump between segments rather than step down evenly. This is a display calibration issue, not a cell fault. After one full charge-discharge cycle through the camera body, the indicator typically stabilises as the BMS adjusts its threshold mapping.

DXG camera showing dead battery indicator on a freshly charged replacement cell

A replacement cell that has sat in storage can drop to a resting voltage below the camera's minimum acceptance threshold — typically around 3.0V — causing the body to display a dead or absent battery on first insert. The BMS will not attempt to draw from a cell it reads as critically low. Charge the cell in-body for at least 15 minutes before powering on; once voltage climbs above the camera's wake threshold, the body will recognise the cell and allow normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DXG-517V shows the battery icon as almost empty right after I put in the new cell — is it faulty?

It usually isn't a faulty cell. New Li-ion cells often rest at a lower voltage after storage, and the DXG-517V's indicator interprets that low resting voltage as a near-empty state. Place the battery in the camera and charge it fully via the camera body before powering on. Once the cell reaches at least 4.1V through a complete in-body charge cycle, the display should read correctly.

My shot count on the DXG-535V is lower than I expected — the battery drains faster than the original did.

Shot count drops when the camera's flash, continuous autofocus, or LCD backlight run at higher duty cycles than the rated test conditions assume. The 1100mAh rating reflects steady-state draw, not burst current from repeated flash recycling. Each flash discharge pulls a sharp current spike that the cell recovers from, but those spikes add up faster than standard photo-count estimates suggest. Reduce flash use or switch to natural light shooting to bring actual shot count closer to capacity expectations.

The DXG-533V battery percentage jumped from 60% straight to 10% mid-shoot — what causes that?

This is a voltage-threshold mapping issue. The DXG-533V's indicator steps down based on fixed voltage points, and a new cell's discharge curve hits those points at different charge levels than the original cell did. The jump from 60% to 10% typically happens because the cell passes through a voltage threshold faster than the camera expects at that state of charge. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator segments will track the new cell's curve more accurately.
