Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCL810 / SCL860 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SB-L160)
This 7.4V, 3700mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM SB-L160, SB-L110A, and SB-L320 batteries. It fits the Samsung SCL810, SCL860, SCL870, SCL901, and more than two dozen additional SCL-series digital cameras. Same voltage, same connector, same form factor as the original.
- SCL-series platform fit: Samsung's SCL line shares a common battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the SCL810 through SCL901 range. All three OEM part numbers — SB-L160, SB-L110A, SB-L320 — are electrically identical at 7.4V and physically interchangeable within this camera family.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SCL-series BMS under photo and video load. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination and low-voltage cutoff, and the camera body accepted the cell without error flags on first install after one full charge cycle.
- First-use charge protocol for SCL cameras: Run the initial charge inside the camera body using the OEM cable or charger — not a generic USB bank. The SCL BMS maps its battery-remaining display against a voltage curve it captures during that first supervised charge cycle. Skipping this step often causes the indicator to read inaccurately for the life of the cell.
Why the SCL810 shows a dead-battery icon on a freshly charged replacement cell
The SCL810's BMS calibrates its indicator against the discharge curve it recorded from the original cell. A new cell with a different internal resistance profile can read as depleted even when voltage is near full. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault in the replacement. Charge the new cell fully inside the camera body — the BMS re-maps its threshold against the new curve during that first cycle. After one full charge-discharge cycle in-camera, the indicator typically stabilises and reads accurately.
Battery percentage jumping erratically mid-shoot on the SCL series
Erratic percentage readings — dropping from 60% to 20% in a few frames, then recovering — point to a voltage-threshold mismatch between the cell's actual discharge curve and the camera's stored lookup table. It happens most often when a replacement cell has a slightly different mid-discharge voltage plateau than the OEM cell the BMS was calibrated against. Run two full charge and discharge cycles in-camera to allow the BMS to update its mapping. If the jumping persists after two cycles, check that resting voltage after a full charge reads at or above 8.2V with a multimeter.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCL810 shows "no battery" or won't power on with the new cell installed — is the battery dead?
The SCL-series BMS runs an authentication check on first install and can reject a new cell if it hasn't completed an initial charge handshake. Remove the battery, reinsert it, then charge it fully inside the camera body before attempting to power on. This single charge cycle from within the camera is what triggers the BMS to accept the cell. After a full in-camera charge, resting voltage at the terminals should read 8.2V or higher before you power on.
Shot count seems way lower than expected — the battery drains much faster than the original did
Shot count specs are measured under controlled conditions with flash disabled, stabilisation off, and minimal LCD use. On the SCL series, continuous autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and frequent flash recycling each add significant current draw that compounds quickly. The 3700mAh capacity is correct — what changes is how fast those combined loads pull it down versus a simple shutter-press test. Shoot a full charge cycle in your typical conditions — flash, AF, and video use included — and you'll see the real-world capacity figure, which will be lower than the spec-sheet number but consistent from cycle to cycle.
Flash takes noticeably longer to recycle between shots compared to the original battery
Slow flash recycling on the SCL series is usually a sign of voltage sag under the capacitor recharge spike — the flash capacitor draws a short, sharp burst of current that new cells occasionally sag under until the cell is broken in. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles before judging flash recycle speed. If recycling is still sluggish after break-in, check that the battery contacts inside the camera bay are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact — oxidised contacts increase resistance and directly slow capacitor recharge current.
