Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Easypix DVC5308 / DVC5308HD / S530 / SDV1200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 850mAh Li-ion cell for the Easypix DVC5308, DVC5308HD, S530, and SDV1200 compact digital cameras. It fits the original battery slot and connects via the same contact configuration as the factory cell. Capacity is drawn from the product specification — 850mAh, 3.15Wh.
- DVC5308 and SDV1200 platform compatibility: These models share a common 3.7V battery form factor and contact layout. The cell dimensions — 40.20 × 35.30 × 6.10mm — match the cavity in each body. No modification needed to seat the cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Easypix charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without error flags. Voltage at full charge reached 4.19V. Discharge curve stayed within the camera's low-battery detection threshold until the final 10% of capacity.
- First-cycle calibration on the DVC5308: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body before your first shoot. The DVC5308 battery indicator maps to voltage thresholds from within the body's own charging circuit — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly from the first use.
Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell
The DVC5308 uses a voltage-threshold map to estimate charge level. A new Li-ion cell fresh out of packaging often sits between 3.6V and 3.75V — inside the camera's low-battery warning zone. The body reads this as near-empty even though the cell has significant capacity remaining. One full charge cycle inside the camera resets the threshold reference and brings the indicator into alignment with actual charge state.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during video recording
Under sustained video load, the DVC5308 draws from the sensor, image processor, and LCD simultaneously. This combined current pull causes brief voltage sag on a new cell whose internal resistance hasn't settled yet. The camera's indicator reads the sagged voltage as a sharp drop, then recovers when load eases. After two to three full charge and discharge cycles, internal resistance stabilises and the display reading tracks more smoothly — verify the cell is reaching at least 4.15V at full charge before concluding there is a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Easypix DVC5308 shows "no battery" or won't turn on with the new cell installed — what's going on?
The DVC5308 BMS performs a contact voltage check at power-on. If the replacement cell shipped at a low resting voltage — below roughly 3.5V — the camera may reject it entirely rather than prompt a charge. Place the cell in the camera, connect the USB charge cable, and let it charge for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. After that initial charge the body should recognise the cell and boot normally.
The battery indicator on my DVC5308 jumps from 50% straight to empty mid-recording — is the cell faulty?
Not necessarily. During video capture, the camera draws from the sensor, processor, and display at the same time, causing a short voltage sag. A new cell with unsettled internal resistance exaggerates this sag, and the camera's voltage-threshold indicator reads it as a steep drop. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and check whether the behaviour persists. If the cell still drops sharply after cycling, measure the resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 4.15V.
My DVC5308 shoots far fewer clips than it did with the original battery — why is a fresh cell underperforming?
Sustained video recording combines sensor readout, JPEG or video compression, and LCD backlight draw — all pulling from a single 850mAh cell. Cold ambient temperatures reduce available capacity further, as Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below 15°C. If you're shooting outdoors in cool conditions, keep the camera body warm between takes. For indoor use, confirm the cell fully charges to 4.15V or above inside the camera body before your first session.
