Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ecovacs Deebot M81 Pro — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (10001374)
This is a 12V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ecovacs Deebot M81 Pro robotic vacuum cleaner. It also fits the Deebot DT83, DT85, and DT85G. The battery powers the drive motors, brush motor, and onboard navigation through each cleaning cycle.
- M81 Pro, DT83, DT85, DT85G platform: These models share the same 12V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them requires no wiring changes — the voltage rail and cell arrangement match across the group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the M81 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, current draw during motor ramp-up stayed within cutoff thresholds, and the charge circuit terminated correctly at capacity.
- Dock charging on Ni-MH cells: The M81 Pro's dock does not cut power once the battery is full — it continues to trickle charge. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than Li-ion. Charge the robot fully, then remove it from the dock until the next cleaning session.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The M81 Pro's brush and suction motors draw more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted. Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under sustained high current draw — the motor slows before the battery gauge registers low. The battery still has stored charge, but the pack can't deliver enough voltage under load to maintain motor speed. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before assuming the battery is the fault.
Robot cuts out mid-cycle and then restarts after sitting still
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush, or the unit getting stuck against an obstacle — the motors draw sustained current above the BMS trip threshold. The BMS disconnects the pack to protect the cells, and the robot powers off. After a short rest, the BMS resets and the unit restarts. Clear the blockage first. If trips continue on a clean filter, test terminal voltage under load — a healthy pack should hold above 10.8V during motor run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Deebot M81 Pro loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery light isn't flashing — what's going on?
This is almost always voltage sag under motor load, not a depleted battery. When the filter is partially clogged, the suction motor draws more current than rated, and Ni-MH cells drop voltage under that sustained load before the gauge catches up. Clean the filter first — if suction holds after that, the filter was restricting airflow and forcing the motor to work harder. If sag continues on a clean filter, the cell pack may have lost capacity and can no longer hold voltage above 10.8V under load.
My M81 Pro keeps cutting out during a run and then turns back on after I leave it alone — is the battery faulty?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip recovering after the load is removed, not a cell failure. The BMS disconnects the pack when current draw spikes above its threshold — typically caused by a blocked brush roll, clogged filter, or the robot pressing hard against furniture. The trip resets once current demand drops. Clear the brush roll of hair and clean the filter, then run a full cycle. If the cuts still happen on an unobstructed clean floor, check terminal voltage during operation — it should stay above 10.8V.
The M81 Pro is on the dock every day — why does it seem to clean for less time than it used to?
Continuous dock charging degrades Ni-MH cells faster than scheduled charge-and-remove use. The M81 Pro dock does not stop sending current when the pack is full, so the cells sit under a trickle charge indefinitely. Over weeks, this compresses the usable capacity range. With this replacement pack, charge the robot fully and then take it off the dock — only return it when the battery is depleted. That single change extends cell life significantly compared to leaving it docked permanently.
