Fits Ecovacs GOAT G1, G1-800, GX-600, and GOAT G1 1600 robotic lawn mowers; replaces OEM part 201-2201-0903.
18.5V and 5200mAh capacity deliver 96.2Wh of energy to sustain autonomous cutting cycles across typical residential lawns.
Connector seats into the mower's battery slot with a single-tab lock mechanism; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran full discharge cycles on a test GOAT G1 unit; BMS engaged at voltage floor with no early cutoff events.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then resumes after a few seconds, allow the battery five minutes to cool before restarting — thermal protection is active under heavy blade load.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ecovacs GOAT G1 Series — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery (201-2201-0903)

This 18.5V Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Ecovacs GOAT G1, G1-800, GX-600, and GOAT G1 1600 robotic lawn mowers. Capacity is 5200mAh (96.2Wh), matching the OEM specification. It connects and communicates with the mower's onboard BMS the same way the factory pack does.

  • GOAT G1 series platform fit: The G1, G1-800, GX-600, and G1 1600 all share the same 18.5V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement pack covers all listed variants without wiring changes or firmware conflicts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated blade-motor start sequences and monitored BMS response under simulated load. Cell balancing completed correctly after the third full charge cycle, and the BMS held cutoff thresholds within spec throughout.
  • Cold-weather start preparation: If temperatures are below 10°C, bring the battery indoors overnight before use. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower clears the dock.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The GOAT G1's blade motor draws significantly more current when cutting dense or wet grass than during normal dry-turf operation. If the pack's cells are partially depleted or not yet conditioned, that inrush spike can push instantaneous draw past the BMS overcurrent threshold, triggering a protective shutoff. This is a BMS protection event, not a faulty battery. Running three full charge-discharge cycles first brings cell capacity up and lowers internal resistance enough that the BMS no longer trips on heavy cutting loads.

Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells left sitting through winter self-discharge slowly, and if the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the charger's acceptance circuit will not initiate a charge cycle — the dock light may flash amber or show a fault code. This is a low-voltage lockout, not a dead battery. Place the pack on the charger and leave it connected for 30–60 minutes; most Ecovacs chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that recovers cells from this state. If the charger still shows a fault after that period, check cell voltage with a multimeter — any cell reading below 2.0V indicates the pack has passed recovery threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GOAT G1 cuts out halfway across a row, then starts again after a few minutes — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating, not a fault with the battery itself. The blade motor generates heat under sustained load, and once pack temperature hits the BMS upper threshold, it cuts power to protect the cells. The mower recovers after the pack cools — typically around 5 minutes. If it happens repeatedly on a single mow, reduce the mowing schedule in humid or dense-growth conditions to lower sustained motor load.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than my old one did — should I be worried?

Warmth during the first several charge-discharge cycles is normal for a new Li-ion pack. Fresh cells undergo a conditioning process where internal resistance settles and the BMS calibrates cell balance; this generates slightly more heat than a broken-in pack does. After 5 full cycles, surface temperature during operation should drop back to the level you'd expect. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably after cycle 6, that's outside normal range — recheck charger output voltage at the dock terminals, which should read 21V DC.

The mower loses power noticeably faster on the first cold morning of spring — is the battery failing?

It's not failing — Li-ion cells lose usable capacity below 10°C because lower temperatures raise internal resistance and reduce the voltage the cells can sustain under load. The mower will cut shorter runs on cold mornings even with a fully charged pack. Bring the battery indoors the night before the first spring mow and let it reach room temperature before docking it — this restores full available capacity before the session begins.
