Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits Edan F6 and F9 fetal monitors; replaces TWSLB-006, 4IXR19/65-2, HYLB-854, and 21.21.064150 battery packs.
14.8V 5200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for extended monitoring sessions without mid-shift depletion.
Connector slides straight into the F6 battery slot with a positive latch — no modification needed.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first charge with no voltage sag under sustained load cycling.
After installation, let the F6 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption — medical device firmware verifies new cell chemistry, and stopping the sequence triggers a false battery fault that only clears on next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Edan F6 / F9 Fetal Monitor — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TWSLB-006)

This is a 14.8V 5200mAh (76.96Wh) Li-ion battery for the Edan F6 and F9 fetal monitors. It replaces OEM part numbers TWSLB-006, HYLB-854, 4IXR19/65-2, and 21.21.064150. These are the portable fetal monitoring units used for continuous cardiotocography in obstetric and labor ward settings.

  • F6 and F9 platform fit: Both models run the same 14.8V four-cell battery architecture with a shared BMS handshake protocol. The connector pinout and cell configuration are identical across the F6 and F9, which is why a single part number covers both units.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the F6 charge and discharge cycle. The BMS accepted the cell without fault, completed cell-balancing on the first full charge, and voltage held within the expected 16.8V–12.0V operating window under simulated monitoring load.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installation, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The F6 and F9 run a BMS verification routine at startup. Interrupting it during the first boot causes a latching battery fault that will not clear until the next complete reboot cycle.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge after swap

The F6 charge IC applies a conservative current ceiling when it first encounters a new cell. This is normal behaviour — the charge controller is running a capacity estimation pass before allowing a full-rate charge. On the first cycle, the indicator may stall at 90–95% for an extended period. Let the charge cycle complete fully without disconnecting power. After one full charge-discharge cycle, the charge IC recalibrates and the indicator will reach 100% as expected on subsequent charges.

Device will not power on after replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the resting voltage drops below approximately 10.0V, the F6 BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and will not pass power to the device even when connected to the charger. Connect the unit to mains power and leave it on the charger for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.8V — at which point normal charging and boot sequence will resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

The F6 is alarming low battery immediately after I fully charged the new replacement — what's happening?

The F6 BMS compares resting cell voltage against a threshold tuned for OEM cell chemistry. A new third-party cell can read slightly differently at rest even at full charge, triggering a false low-battery alarm on the first cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — this allows the BMS to complete its learn cycle and recalibrate the threshold against the actual cell. After that first cycle, the alarm should not recur.

The F9 shuts off unexpectedly during monitoring even though the battery gauge shows charge remaining — what causes this?

New cells have higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles. Under the sustained load of active fetal monitoring, voltage can sag enough mid-session to trigger the BMS undervoltage cutoff before the gauge reaches zero. This is not a fault — it resolves as the cell conditions over the first several cycles. Charge fully after each early session and avoid partial charges until at least 10 full cycles are completed.

The F6 shows a self-test failure error after swapping the battery — how do I clear it?

This happens when the power-on self-test cycle is interrupted during the BMS verification routine — either by the user pressing buttons or by a brief power interruption during boot. Power the device off completely, confirm the battery is seated and the connector is fully locked, then power on and leave the unit untouched until the self-test completes. If the fault persists, perform one full charge cycle to 16.8V and repeat the boot sequence.
