Fits Edding Portable 12 model LO-G-PO-12 with 18V Li-ion chemistry.
Delivers 18V at 3000mAh capacity — 54Wh total energy for sustained drilling and fastening cycles.
Connector seats flush into the Portable 12 housing slot with standard locking tab engagement.
We tested the pack on motor-start inrush draw — BMS stayed active through full trigger pulls without nuisance cutoff.
On first use with the Portable 12, run the tool at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque applications to let the BMS profile the motor inrush current draw.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Edding Portable 12 / LO-G-PO-12 — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 18V, 3000mAh (54Wh) Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Edding Portable 12 and LO-G-PO-12 cordless power tools. It matches the original voltage rail and physical form factor. Swap it in when your original pack no longer holds a charge or fails to seat on the charger.

  • Portable 12 and LO-G-PO-12 compatibility: Both models run the same 18V rail and use an identical battery housing and connector. One pack covers both — no adapter or wiring change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles and triggered motor-start inrush loads. The BMS held its overcurrent threshold without nuisance tripping and recovered cleanly after each discharge.
  • First-use load conditioning: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full torque applications. This lets the BMS profile your motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent protection thresholds before you push it hard.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in the Portable 12

When you pull the trigger on a cordless tool, the motor draws a spike of current — often three to five times the running load — for a fraction of a second. If the BMS hasn't profiled your motor yet, it can read that spike as a fault and cut power immediately. This is not a dead battery; it's an overcurrent trip. Run the tool at moderate load for two cycles and the BMS recalibrates. After that, full-load trigger pulls should not cause nuisance cutoffs.

Charger not recognising this pack after it's been sitting in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, most chargers refuse to start a charge cycle — the pack sits on the dock with no response or a blinking red indicator. To recover it, look for a "recovery" or "wake" mode on your charger if one exists. If your charger lacks that mode, a compatible Li-ion charger with a boost or trickle function can bring the cells back above the 3.0V acceptance threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Portable 12 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — is the battery dead or is something else going on?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead pack. The motor-start inrush spike briefly exceeds the BMS protection threshold, so it shuts the circuit before damage occurs. Run the tool at light load for two full cycles — the BMS profiles the inrush pattern and raises its trip threshold accordingly. After conditioning, full-trigger pulls should no longer cause the cutout.

The Portable 12 runs but feels weak and bogs down under load — could the battery be the cause?

Yes. Voltage sag under heavy load is the likely cause. When cell resistance rises — from age, shallow cycling, or cold temperatures — the voltage rail drops under motor load and the tool loses torque. Check that the battery terminals are clean and seating firmly; contact resistance adds directly to sag. If the rail drops below roughly 14V under full load, the cells themselves have degraded and replacement is the fix.

My Edding Portable 12 battery pack has been stored for a few months and now the charger shows nothing — no lights, no activity. What do I do?

Extended storage causes self-discharge, and if cells fall below the charger's acceptance voltage (typically around 2.5V per cell), the charger won't initiate a cycle. Look for a recovery or boost mode on your charger — many 18V tool chargers include one. If yours doesn't, a Li-ion charger with a trickle-start function can nudge the cells back above 3.0V per cell, at which point your standard charger will recognise the pack and begin normal charging.
