Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell BT-CD 10.8/1 Li — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-CD 10.8/1 Li)
This is a 10.8V, 2500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Einhell BT-CD 10.8/1 Li and BT-CD 10.8/4 Li cordless drill-drivers. It slots into the same bay and connects to the same BMS handshake as the original pack. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.
- BT-CD 10.8/1 Li and 10.8/4 Li compatibility: Both models run the same 10.8V rail, use the same slide-in connector, and share identical BMS communication protocols — one pack covers both tools without any adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger-pull sequences on a BT-CD 10.8/1 Li, monitoring the BMS response to motor-start inrush current. The protection circuit held stable across full charge and mid-cycle discharge states, with no false overcurrent trips during normal screw-driving loads.
- Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On the first two cycles, run the drill at half load — moderate-torque screw driving rather than high-resistance drilling. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush draw before it locks in its overcurrent thresholds, reducing the chance of nuisance cutoffs at full torque later.
BMS overcurrent trip on trigger pull in the BT-CD 10.8 series
When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a sharp inrush spike — often three to five times the steady running current — before the rotor reaches speed. In the BT-CD 10.8 series, that spike lasts only milliseconds, but a freshly installed pack with an uncalibrated BMS can read it as a fault and cut the output rail. The tool either stalls instantly or delivers a weak half-second burst before shutting down. Running two partial-load break-in cycles gives the BMS enough data to distinguish a normal start spike from a genuine overcurrent event.
Charger not recognising the pack after it has sat unused
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage — if the pack voltage drops below roughly 9V, the charger's acceptance circuit will not initiate a charge cycle and the indicator light stays dark or blinks an error. This is a charger-side voltage threshold, not a dead pack. To recover it, connect the battery and leave it on the charger for 10–15 minutes; some Einhell chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that will nudge the cell voltage back above the 9V acceptance floor before switching to the main charge cycle. If the charger still shows no response after 20 minutes, check cell voltage directly — anything above 8.5V per cell group is recoverable.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BT-CD 10.8 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on hard material — is the battery faulty?
This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. The motor-start inrush spike in a compact 10.8V drill can briefly exceed the BMS protection threshold, especially on a new pack that hasn't yet profiled the load. Run two cycles at light-to-medium torque first — screwing into softwood rather than drilling into metal — then move to full-load applications. That sequence trains the BMS to recognise normal inrush and stops the false trips.
The drill feels like it's running out of breath under sustained load — bogs down and slows before I finish the hole.
That behaviour is voltage sag: under sustained high current draw, the cell voltage drops enough that the tool loses torque noticeably before the BMS triggers a low-voltage cutoff. The first place to check is the contact rail between battery and tool — oxidised or dirty contacts add resistance and amplify the sag. Clean the contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth, then reseat the battery firmly. If sag persists after cleaning, measure the pack voltage under load; it should stay above 9.5V during drilling.
The drill works fine indoors but bogs out quickly on site in cold weather — same battery, same material.
Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which means the cells deliver less current under load and voltage sag worsens. There is no fix in the field for low temperature — the chemistry itself is the limit. Keep the spare pack in an inside jacket pocket between uses so it stays closer to body temperature, and swap to the warm pack when the tool starts to slow. Performance recovers fully once the cells return to above 10°C.
