Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell BT-CD 10.8/3 LI — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4513377E)
This is a 10.8V 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Einhell BT-CD 10.8/3 LI cordless drill/driver. It fits the compact slide-in pack housing used on that drill platform. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 10.8V, 1500mAh (16.2Wh).
- BT-CD 10.8/3 LI platform fit: The BT-CD 10.8/3 LI uses a compact 10.8V slide rail with a specific contact layout and BMS handshake. This pack matches that rail geometry, contact pitch, and the voltage thresholds the tool's BMS expects to see on startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles using the BT-CD 10.8/3 LI platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and overcurrent protection triggered correctly at motor-start inrush — no nuisance trips during normal trigger pulls.
- First-use load break-in: On first use, run the drill at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and calibrate its overcurrent thresholds before you drive long fasteners or bore larger holes.
BMS cutoff on the BT-CD 10.8/3 LI motor-start inrush surge
When you pull the trigger on a drill, the motor draws a short burst of current — sometimes three to five times the running current — before it reaches operating speed. On a 10.8V pack with a tight overcurrent threshold, a worn or contaminated rail contact raises resistance just enough to push that spike over the BMS cutoff point. The pack then shuts off instantly, which looks like a dead battery. Clean the rail contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth, reseat the pack, and check the voltage reads 10.8V before attempting another trigger pull.
Charger not recognising the pack after storage
Li-ion packs that sit unused for several months can self-discharge below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. At that point, the charger sees the voltage as out of range and refuses to begin a charge cycle, often showing a blinking or solid red fault light. This is a BMS re-initialisation issue, not a dead pack. Some Einhell chargers support a recovery mode — consult the charger label for a trickle or wake-up sequence. If no recovery mode exists, a brief 10–15 minute trickle at 0.1C from a compatible bench supply can bring cell voltage back above 3.0V per cell, after which the standard charger will accept the pack normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BT-CD 10.8/3 LI cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — is this the battery or the tool?
That sudden cutout on trigger pull is almost always the BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current, not a faulty tool. It happens most often when rail contacts have oxidation or debris raising contact resistance, which pushes the startup spike over the BMS overcurrent threshold. Clean the contact strips on both the pack and the tool with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and confirm the pack reads 10.8V before retrying. If it still trips, try a slower trigger pull on a lower torque setting to verify the BMS is not set too tight from a deep-discharge conditioning event.
The drill bogs down and loses power halfway through driving a screw — battery seems fine on the charger.
That bog-under-load symptom is voltage sag — the cell voltage drops under sustained current draw faster than it should, even if resting voltage looks normal. It usually means cell capacity has faded from repeated shallow cycling, where the pack was topped up after light use rather than being run through fuller discharge cycles. Check resting voltage immediately after the sag event — if it recovers to above 10.5V within 30 seconds, shallow-cycle degradation is the cause, not a dead cell. Running two or three full discharge-to-recharge cycles can partially recalibrate the BMS state-of-charge tracking and restore perceived capacity.
The drill works fine indoors but loses noticeable power when I use it outside in winter — same battery.
Cold temperatures increase the internal resistance of Li-ion cells significantly — below 5°C, the pack can deliver noticeably less current before the BMS detects a voltage drop and throttles output. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault. Store the pack indoors at room temperature and only bring it outside when you are ready to work — a warm pack will maintain lower internal resistance for longer in the cold. If the pack is already cold, 15 minutes at room temperature is enough to bring cell resistance back down to a usable range.
