Fits Einhell RG-CH 18 Li hedge trimmer; replaces OEM battery RG-CH 18 Li.
Delivers 18V nominal, 5000mAh capacity for sustained cutting power on shrubs and hedges.
Connector slots into the tool's rear grip mount with a single locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested the pack on motor-start inrush and logged clean BMS response under trigger pull.
On first use, run the trimmer at half throttle for two cycles before full-load cutting — allows the BMS to profile motor inrush before locking overcurrent protection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell RG-CH 18 Li — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RG-CH 18 Li)

This is an 18V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 5000mAh (90Wh) for the Einhell RG-CH 18 Li cordless hedge trimmer. It slots into the same battery bay as the original pack and communicates with the trimmer's onboard BMS over the same connector pinout. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.

  • RG-CH 18 Li platform fit: The RG-CH 18 Li runs an 18V battery rail with a proprietary slide-on connector and a three-wire BMS handshake line. This replacement uses the same connector geometry and communicates the correct cell voltage and temperature data so the trimmer's protection circuit does not flag it as an unrecognised pack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the RG-CH 18 Li platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, overcurrent protection tripped correctly on deliberate blade-stall tests, and cell temperatures stayed within spec under sustained cutting loads.
  • Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the trimmer at light cutting load for two full cycles before tackling thick stems or dense hedgerows. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds before you push the blade hard.

BMS cutoff on trigger pull during heavy hedge cutting

When the RG-CH 18 Li blade engages dense material, motor inrush current spikes sharply in the first 80–120ms. A new pack with a conservatively calibrated BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent event and cut power before the blade reaches full speed. The fix is to ease into the cut — start the blade in free air, then move into the hedge rather than plunging straight into thick growth. After two or three full working cycles the BMS adjusts its threshold and the false trips stop.

Charger not recognising the pack after extended storage

If the replacement pack has sat uncharged for several months, individual cells can drop below 2.5V — the threshold most Einhell chargers require before entering normal charge mode. The charger light may blink red or show no response at all. Place the pack on the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes; most Einhell chargers include a trickle pre-charge routine that recovers cells between 1.5V and 2.5V before switching to the main charge cycle. If the charger still shows no response after 30 minutes, check the battery contacts for oxidation and clean them with a dry cloth before retrying.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RG-CH 18 Li cuts out the instant I start trimming thick stems — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty cell. The hedge trimmer's motor draws a sharp inrush current spike when the blade bites into dense material, and a new pack's BMS can read that as an overcurrent event and shut down within milliseconds. Start the blade spinning in free air first, then move into the hedge gradually. After two to three full working cycles the BMS builds a current profile for the motor and the false trips stop.

The trimmer feels underpowered and bogs down mid-cut even though the battery shows full charge — what's causing that?

This is voltage sag — under sustained blade load, cell voltage drops below the trimmer's motor controller threshold and output power falls. Check that the battery contacts on both the pack and the tool are clean and seated fully; high contact resistance multiplies sag significantly. If contacts are clean, the issue is usually the cells running warm under sustained load, which raises internal resistance — pause for two to three minutes between dense sections to let the pack cool. A resting pack voltage above 19.5V after a cool-down confirms the cells are healthy.

The battery works fine in warm weather but the trimmer loses power quickly on cold mornings — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which limits how much current the cells can deliver without sagging. The RG-CH 18 Li will feel noticeably weaker below that temperature even with a fully charged pack. Store the battery indoors overnight rather than in a garden shed or garage, and let it warm to room temperature before use. A pack that reads 20V+ on the charger and then sags heavily in cold air is behaving normally and will recover once ambient temperature rises above 10°C.
