Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ELCA MIRAGE-M / BRAVO-M — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI-TE)
This 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM LI-TE cell in ELCA MIRAGE-M and BRAVO-M wireless crane remote controls. It fits the same battery compartment and connector as the original, maintaining the voltage rail the remote's transmitter board requires. Capacity is 25.16Wh as supplied.
- MIRAGE-M and BRAVO-M platform fit: Both models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication handshake — that is why one part number covers both. Swapping between platforms does not require firmware or charger changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the MIRAGE-M platform. The BMS initialised correctly, voltage held steady across solenoid activation events, and the low-battery indicator did not trigger until the cell reached the expected cutoff threshold.
- Storage charge for infrequent crane use: Crane remotes often sit idle between jobs. If the remote will be unused for more than three weeks, charge the battery first. Li-ion cells discharged below 2.5V per cell enter BMS lockout — the charger may show activity but the cell will not recover.
Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery
When a crane remote fires a solenoid or relay, the inrush current spike can briefly pull the battery bus voltage below the BMS protection threshold. If the battery arrived at storage voltage — typically 3.7V per cell — its internal impedance is higher than a fully charged cell, which makes it more vulnerable to that spike. The BMS interprets the voltage dip as an overcurrent event and shuts down the output rail. Charge the battery fully to 8.4V before the first operational use to lower cell impedance and keep the bus stable during activation.
Remote showing low battery immediately after swapping in a new cell
A new Li-ion cell ships at roughly 50–60% state of charge — around 7.3–7.5V — not at full voltage. The MIRAGE-M remote reads cell voltage to determine charge state, and at storage voltage the indicator correctly flags a low condition. This is not a faulty battery. Connect the battery to the ELCA charger and run a full charge cycle until the charger indicates complete, which puts the pack at 8.4V, before returning the remote to service.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ELCA MIRAGE-M crane remote won't power on at all after sitting in the cabinet for a few months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V per cell during storage, triggering BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the output to prevent cell damage. Connect the battery to the ELCA charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button; some chargers apply a trickle recovery current that slowly brings the voltage back above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charger light does not change state after 45 minutes, the cell has likely over-discharged past recovery and needs replacement. A healthy cell will read at least 6.0V on a multimeter across the battery terminals when the BMS re-enables.
The crane remote powers on fine but cuts out the moment I press a button to activate the hoist — why?
Activating the hoist command triggers a relay or solenoid in the crane circuit, and the resulting inrush current pulls a surge through the remote's transmitter at the same moment. If the battery is not fully charged, higher internal impedance causes the bus voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff point during that spike, and the remote shuts down. Charge the battery to its full 8.4V before use — a partially charged cell simply cannot absorb the transient without dropping out. If dropout continues on a fully charged battery, check the battery contacts for oxidation that increases resistance at the connection point.
The ELCA remote's E-stop response feels slower than it used to — could the battery be causing that?
E-stop signal transmission speed is voltage-dependent; a cell with significant capacity fade holds a lower resting voltage under load, which reduces the transmitter's output power and can add latency to the signal reaching the crane receiver. Check the resting voltage of the battery under load — if it reads below 7.0V shortly after a full charge cycle, the cell has degraded and capacity has dropped materially from the rated 3400mAh. Replace the battery and re-test E-stop response time before returning the crane to service. For safety-critical lifts, always verify the battery is at full charge at the start of each shift.
