Fits Emporia Solid phones; replaces OEM part AK-V33 battery.
3.7V, 1450mAh cell delivers 5.37Wh — standard capacity for this basic phone model.
Connector slides straight in; no locking tab; verify seat before closing the battery cover.
Bench test showed normal BMS handshake on first charge; fuel gauge IC required recalibration cycle.
On first use, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Emporia Solid — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AK-V33)

This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Emporia Solid mobile phone. It matches the OEM part number AK-V33 and slots into the same battery bay as the factory cell. Dimensions are 53.00 x 39.40 x 7.30mm — confirm against your original before installing.

  • Emporia Solid compatibility: The Solid uses a fixed 3.7V single-cell architecture with a dedicated connector keyed to the AK-V33 form factor. Voltage rail and connector pinout match the original, so no modification is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Solid platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: Run one complete discharge-charge cycle without interruption after installation. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before drawing conclusions about remaining capacity.

Why the Emporia Solid reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Solid's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads voltage and maps it against the old curve, so the percentage shown can be several points off — often reading full when the cell is not, or dropping suddenly near the bottom. One full uninterrupted discharge followed by a full charge resets this calibration.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the new cell

A fresh Li-ion cell at 1450mAh has a steeper voltage cliff than a partially degraded original. When the Solid's screen, baseband, and audio draw current simultaneously near that cliff, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. This is not a faulty cell — it is the BMS protecting against over-discharge. After two or three full cycles the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop. If they persist past three cycles, check that the cell voltage under no load reads at least 3.6V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Emporia Solid shows 25% battery and then just switches off — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. A fresh Li-ion cell has a sharper voltage drop at the low end than a worn original, and the phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's curve. When the screen and baseband pull current together near that voltage cliff, the cell drops below the BMS cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run two or three full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles and the shutdowns will stop as the fuel gauge recalibrates to the new cell.

The phone's battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — what is causing this?

The coulomb counter inside the Emporia Solid was calibrated against the original cell's capacity and self-discharge rate. A new cell with different internal impedance produces voltage readings the fuel gauge IC does not recognise accurately, so it guesses — and the percentage bounces. Let the battery drain fully until the phone powers off, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. One complete cycle is usually enough to anchor the fuel gauge to the new cell's actual discharge curve.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell dissipates more heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in original. The charge IC on the Solid pushes current into higher internal resistance, and that converts some energy to heat. Warmth to the touch is normal for the first two or three charges. If the phone becomes hot — uncomfortable to hold — remove it from charge and let it cool to room temperature before resuming, then check that the charge voltage at termination reaches 4.2V.
