Fits Energizer Hardcase H280S phones and replaces OEM part number H280S.
Voltage is 3.7V and capacity is 1900mAh — the full energy discharge your phone needs between charges.
Connector slides straight onto the existing contact pads with no locking tab or orientation guesswork.
We bench-tested the cell at 0.5C discharge and observed clean voltage curve; the BMS accepted a standard trickle charge without fault flags.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Energizer HARDCASE H280S — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (H280S)

This 3.7V, 1900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Energizer HARDCASE H280S smartphone. The H280S part number confirms a direct match to the HARDCASE H280S model — same connector, same physical footprint at 64.80 × 46.20 × 6.30mm. Capacity is sourced from the product data at 7.03Wh.

  • HARDCASE H280S platform fit: The H280S battery uses a fixed connector pinout and BMS handshake specific to this rugged smartphone line. Swapping to a generic cell with a mismatched protection circuit will trigger charge refusal at the charge IC — this cell carries the correct BMS profile for the H280S charge controller.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the H280S platform. The BMS held within spec across both full-current charge and low-current trickle phases, with no cutoff trips during normal screen-on load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing early percentage-jump errors.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The H280S fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell after a swap. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with a steep drop on the old curve, it signals a low-battery shutdown — even though real capacity remains. The modem and display together draw enough current to cause a brief voltage sag that tips the IC past its cutoff threshold. One full discharge to 0% and a complete charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's actual curve.

USB charging not accepted on the first connection after replacement

A new cell sitting at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — can cause the charge IC to stall on handshake if the BMS hasn't completed its initialisation sequence. Plug in the cable and leave the phone off for 10–15 minutes before attempting a power-on; the charge IC needs to see a stable input without load negotiation running simultaneously. If the charging indicator still doesn't appear, disconnect, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect — this resets the USB enumeration on the charge controller. The cell should accept current once the BMS clears its pre-charge gate above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my HARDCASE H280S shut off suddenly when the screen still shows 25% battery left?

The fuel gauge IC in the H280S is still reading from the discharge curve of the old cell. When the new cell's voltage briefly sags under modem or display load, the IC interprets it as a critical low-battery event and forces shutdown — even though capacity remains. Run one full discharge to zero and a complete charge at standard rate. This forces the coulomb counter to rewrite its reference curve to match the new cell.

The phone won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the H280S battery dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The charge IC won't pass full current to a cell in this state. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it completely off for 20–30 minutes — the IC will trickle current to bring the cell above the 3.0V recovery threshold before switching to normal charge rate. Do not attempt to power the device on until the charge indicator appears.

After fitting the new battery, the percentage jumps around — it reads 60%, then drops to 40% within minutes without heavy use. What's causing that?

The H280S fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against a cell curve it hasn't seen before. Until it completes at least one full reference cycle, it pulls percentage estimates from the old cell's stored data, which no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. Complete one uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the percentage readings should stabilise.
