Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honor View 40 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB466485EEW)
This is a 3.85V, 3600mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Honor View 40 smartphone. It replaces the original HB466485EEW battery when capacity has dropped to the point where the phone no longer holds charge through a full day. Dimensions are 84.00 × 64.00 × 4.80mm — match these before installation if your unit has a revision variant.
- View 40 fitment: The View 40 uses a single-cell Li-Polymer pack with a dedicated BMS that communicates charge state to the OS via a coulomb counter IC. Any replacement cell must match voltage and physical footprint exactly — a mismatched cell triggers immediate BMS rejection at the connector handshake.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the View 40 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases correctly across multiple cycles.
- First-cycle fast charge protocol: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings for days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops under modem or display load, the IC hits a voltage threshold it wasn't expecting at that state-of-charge and triggers an emergency shutdown. The fix is a full calibration cycle — drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off. After one complete cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charges
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which generates more heat than you'd see on a worn-in pack. This is normal and drops off after three to five cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the device is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold after cycle five, check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pressure on the flex — a pinched cell traps heat and won't self-correct.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Honor View 40 showing a different battery percentage than I'd expect right after fitting this replacement?
The fuel gauge IC on the View 40 stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC maps incoming charge data against that old curve and the numbers drift — you'll see jumps of 5–10% in either direction. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual curve and the percentage stabilises.
My View 40 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage before I installed it.
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage — it will refuse to pass current to the phone until a minimum voltage is restored. Plug in a charger and leave the phone untouched for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell past the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone will boot normally. If the charger LED does not respond within 40 minutes, verify the connector is fully seated.
Fast charging stopped working on my View 40 after I swapped the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
Honor's fast-charge protocol requires a BMS handshake before the charge IC steps up current. On the first cycle after a cell swap, some units default to standard 5V charging until the BMS has completed one full charge cycle and confirmed cell health to the OS. Charge the phone fully at the slow rate, then discharge it to below 20% and charge again — fast charging typically re-enables on the second or third cycle once the BMS has logged a valid cycle count.
