Fits ETA 0442 Verto vacuum cleaner, replaces OEM part numbers 0442 900000 and 0442 900001.
6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent voltage to motor during carpet cleaning cycles without sag.
Battery slides into the dock connector with a single locking tab on the underside; verify tab alignment before insertion.
We ran the pack through five full discharge cycles on the motor load bench; BMS showed stable 6V until final 15% depletion.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — dock charge causes Ni-MH fade within weeks; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 0442 Verto — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (0442 900000)

This is a 6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the ETA 0442 Verto cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits directly in place of OEM parts 0442 900000 and 0442 900001. Capacity is 2000mAh (12Wh), matching the original cell specification.

  • 0442 Verto platform fit: Both OEM part numbers — 0442 900000 and 0442 900001 — use the same 6V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. This battery covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the 0442 Verto platform. The BMS accepted charge correctly and held voltage within the expected operating window throughout the discharge cycle.
  • Dock charging on the 0442 Verto: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock after it reaches full charge. The 0442 Verto's dock delivers a continuous trickle that degrades Ni-MH cells faster than a standard charge-and-remove cycle. Charge until full, then disconnect.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the 0442 Verto

This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than its rated load. The extra draw pulls the battery voltage down faster than the indicator circuit expects. The indicator reads cell voltage, not remaining capacity, so it lags behind the real state. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery was fine.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum picks up a blockage or the filter is restricted, sustained motor load spikes current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cell, then resets once current drops. Clear the pickup nozzle and filter before assuming the battery is faulty. If trips continue with a clean filter, check that resting cell voltage reads at least 6.0V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ETA 0442 Verto loses suction strength well before the battery light comes on — is the battery failing or is something else causing this?

A restricted filter is the most common cause. It forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which drags the cell voltage down faster than the indicator tracks. The indicator reads voltage, not true remaining capacity, so it shows "fine" while the battery is already sagging under load. Clean the filter first — if suction returns immediately, the battery is not the problem.

The vacuum motor cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on its own — what is happening?

That is a BMS overcurrent trip. A blockage at the nozzle or a clogged filter causes the motor to sustain a current spike above the BMS protection threshold, which cuts the circuit. The BMS resets automatically once the load drops, which is why the motor recovers on its own. Clear the nozzle and filter, then check that resting cell voltage sits at 6.0V or above before the next run.

The replacement battery charged fully the first time, but now after a few weeks it barely holds charge — did the dock damage it?

Yes, continuous dock charging is the most likely cause on the 0442 Verto. The dock delivers a trickle charge that does not stop when the cell is full, and Ni-MH cells degrade quickly under sustained trickle current. Charge the battery to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock and store it off charge. Going forward, only return the vacuum to the dock when the battery is genuinely depleted.
