Fits Explay Ice smartphone, replacing the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell that powered the device.
3.7V, 900mAh capacity delivers the same watt-hour output as the OEM pack for calling and messaging.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a friction-fit contact — no locking tab, straight insertion only.
We bench-tested the cell on a Explay Ice simulator rig; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, voltage stable under 500mA discharge.
On first full charge-discharge cycle after installation, avoid using the phone during charging — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve without load interference.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Explay Ice — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh (3.33Wh) lithium-ion cell for the Explay Ice smartphone. It fits directly into the Ice's battery compartment at 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.80mm. Replace this when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly.

  • Explay Ice fit: The Ice uses a compact single-cell 3.7V pack with a low-current BMS matched to its basic modem and display load. The cell dimensions and connector position are fixed to this model — no modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Ice platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, held voltage through screen-on and call simulation, and cut off correctly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The Ice's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — this single cycle resets it to the new cell so percentage readings stay accurate.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Explay Ice

The Ice's fuel gauge IC maps percentage to voltage using a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the gauge hits its low-voltage cutoff point before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS floor under modem or screen load. One full discharge-charge cycle rewrites the reference curve and stops the early cutoff.

Explay Ice not powering on after sitting in storage

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the Ice has been unused for months, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — at that point the BMS enters lockout and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Plugging in a charger often shows no response because the charge IC won't start a fast-charge cycle into a locked-out pack. Connect the phone to a wall adapter and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — most charge ICs will trickle current through to recover the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 2.9V.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Explay Ice show 30% battery and then switch off without warning?

The fuel gauge IC on the Ice is still using the discharge curve stored for the old cell. The new cell's voltage drops faster under the load of an active call or screen-on state, hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the percentage counter reaches zero. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it corrects itself. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge, and the gauge IC recalibrates to the new curve.

My Explay Ice battery percentage jumps around erratically after I fitted the new cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The coulomb counter inside the Ice's fuel gauge IC is still referencing capacity data from the original cell. Until it completes one full reference cycle on the new cell, it has no accurate baseline, so percentage readings bounce. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, then charge it to 100% in one go without interrupting the charge. After that cycle the counter locks onto the new cell's actual capacity and readings stabilise.

The Explay Ice gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement — should I be concerned?

Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal with a new high-impedance cell. The charge IC pushes a constant-current phase into a cell that hasn't yet settled its internal resistance, which generates more heat than you'd see on a broken-in cell. If the phone is warm but not hot to the touch, keep charging. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect and check the connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces the charge IC to work harder and raises temperature further.
