Falk IBEX GPS Replacement Battery 3.7V 1100mAh

Fits Falk IBEX, IBEX 30, IBEX 40, and CROSS GPS navigators using part numbers CP-FU-NP60-1100CM or CPF-1035.
This 3.7V 1100mAh cell delivers the baseline power these handheld units need for sustained navigation without the voltage sag that weakens satellite acquisition on worn original packs.
Connector matches the Falk slot orientation with a single locking tab on the left edge — seat the tab first, then press the cell fully down until it clicks.
We bench-tested this pack in an IBEX 40 and confirmed stable voltage delivery through a full GPS acquisition cycle and five navigation log entries without BMS cutoff or throttling events.
After installing this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before relying on navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Falk IBEX Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CP-FU-NP60-1100CM)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1100mAh (4.07Wh), built to the same dimensions as the original — 52.20 x 35.30 x 7.10mm. It fits the Falk IBEX, IBEX 30, IBEX 40, and CROSS portable GPS navigators. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns during navigation.

  • IBEX, IBEX 30, IBEX 40, and CROSS compatibility: All four models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical connector footprint and BMS handshake. One cell covers the entire IBEX platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under a simulated GPS navigation load. The BMS handled charge termination cleanly and held the 3.7V nominal rail without voltage sag at the GPS receiver stage.
  • First-fix satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the device on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. Full power removal triggers a cold start — the GPS receiver needs 5–10 minutes for the first fix. Subsequent warm starts drop that to under a minute.

GPS accuracy dropping as the Falk IBEX battery level falls

At low state of charge, the IBEX reduces power to the GPS receiver to stretch remaining runtime. That reduction lowers receiver sensitivity, which narrows the satellite pool the unit can track. Fewer satellites means a weaker position fix and possible drift on the map. Keeping the cell above roughly 3.5V under load maintains full receiver sensitivity and position accuracy.

Falk IBEX shutting off without a low-battery warning

An aged or deeply discharged cell loses accurate state-of-charge tracking — the fuel gauge reads the open-circuit voltage, not true remaining capacity under load. When navigation draws current, voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold faster than the indicator updates. The device shuts off while the icon still shows one bar. Charge the new cell to 100% before first use, then run one full discharge cycle to let the gauge recalibrate to the new cell's actual capacity curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Falk IBEX lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The IBEX stores saved routes and some user data in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that memory loses power and resets. There is no way to prevent it — back up routes to a PC via the Falk software before pulling the old battery, then restore them after fitting the new cell.

The Falk IBEX is taking nearly 10 minutes to get a satellite fix after the battery replacement — what's happening?

That delay is a cold start. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris cache — the data it uses to predict where satellites are. Without that cache, the receiver has to scan the full sky from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear view. Once the first fix completes, subsequent starts use a warm cache and lock in under a minute.

My Falk IBEX is draining the new battery much faster during active navigation than it did on standby — is the cell faulty?

The cell is working correctly. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, display backlight, and map-rendering processor simultaneously — that load is several times higher than standby current draw. The display brightness setting has the biggest single impact; dropping it one or two steps noticeably reduces drain. If charge still drops unusually fast with brightness reduced, check that the device is not also running Bluetooth or any connected accessories while navigating.
