Replaces Fitbit Versa, FB504, FB505 smartwatch battery part R-41021555 or 261827.
Outputs 3.85V at 150mAh — sufficient for multi-day activity tracking, heart rate sampling, and notification delivery on the Versa platform.
Connector is a two-pin pogo contact; align the positive and negative terminals with the watch PCB slot, no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in a Versa unit; the BMS accepted charge current immediately, fuel gauge calibrated on first full cycle.
After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its charger and run a full 0–100% charge cycle — the fuel gauge IC cannot recalibrate without this sequence after a battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

FitBit Versa / FB504 / FB505 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (R-41021555)

This 3.85V, 150mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the FitBit Versa, FB504, and FB505 smartwatches. It matches the OEM dimensions at 27.40 × 18.14 × 2.50mm, so it sits flat in the watch cavity without lifting the rear housing. Voltage and connector are direct matches to the original cell.

  • FB504 and FB505 compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol — the fuel gauge IC accepts this cell without firmware flags or pairing errors on either model.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Versa FB505 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell immediately, voltage read 3.85V at rest, and the fuel gauge IC initialised without errors after a full charge cycle from near-zero.
  • Fuel gauge calibration after swap: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger straight away and charge it to 100% before wearing it. The Versa's fuel gauge IC loses its reference point when the original cell is removed — it cannot report accurate charge levels until it completes one full charge cycle from near-zero with the new cell installed.

Why the Versa battery percentage jumps erratically after a cell swap

The Versa uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current flow over time. When the original cell is disconnected, that running count resets to zero and the IC has no calibrated baseline for the new cell's impedance. Until a full charge-to-100% cycle completes, the IC interpolates from incomplete data, which causes the percentage to skip — often reading 80%, then dropping to 20% within minutes. One full charge cycle from near-zero resolves this completely.

Charge contacts not engaging on the magnetic charger after reassembly

If the watch does not begin charging after a battery swap, the rear housing has likely shifted slightly during reassembly, misaligning the charge contacts by fractions of a millimetre. The Versa's magnetic charger is sensitive to contact position — even small offsets prevent a clean electrical connection. Remove the charger, inspect the four gold pads on the watch back for debris or adhesive residue, and reseat the charger cable centred on the watch. If the charging icon still does not appear, check that the rear panel is fully clicked down flush before reconnecting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Versa shows 0% and won't turn on right after fitting the new battery — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is not dead. The Versa's fuel gauge IC loses its charge reference when the original battery is disconnected, so it reports 0% until it re-calibrates. Connect the watch to its magnetic charger immediately after the swap and leave it until the display confirms 100%. The IC will lock onto the new cell's baseline during that first full charge cycle and percentage readings will stabilise from that point on.

The new battery is draining completely within a day — the old one used to last four or five days.

A one-day drain almost always means always-on display plus continuous heart rate monitoring are both active at the same time. That combination draws significantly more current than the 150mAh cell is sized to handle across multiple days. Go to Settings → Display and switch the screen to auto-off, then set heart rate tracking to auto rather than continuous. Those two changes alone reduce average current draw enough to restore multi-day battery life.

The Versa stopped pairing with my phone after I replaced the battery — Bluetooth keeps failing.

Removing the battery ends the active BLE session, and the watch and phone can lose their bonded device records. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, find the Versa entry, and tap "Forget this device." Then open the Fitbit app, remove the device from your account under Account → your watch name → Remove, and run a fresh setup pairing from scratch. The watch will generate a new BLE session key and the connection will be stable again.
