Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujifilm FinePix F440 / F450 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-30)
The NP-30 is a 3.7V, 300mAh lithium-ion cell for the Fujifilm FinePix F440, F440 Zoom, F450, and F450 Zoom compact digital cameras. It slots directly into the same battery bay as the original and connects via the same three-contact interface. Capacity is 300mAh (1.11Wh), matching the OEM specification.
- F440 and F450 platform fit: Both camera bodies share the same NP-30 battery bay, contact layout, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell services the full FinePix F440/F450 range, including Zoom variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the FinePix platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, reported battery status correctly, and held voltage within the expected discharge curve throughout the test.
- First-cycle BMS calibration on the F440/F450: On first use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body using the OEM cable or AC adapter. The FinePix BMS maps its battery-remaining indicator to a known discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the display to read inaccurately from the start.
Flash recycling slowdown on the NP-30 toward end of discharge
The FinePix F440 and F450 route flash capacitor recharge current directly through the main battery rail. As cell voltage drops toward the lower end of discharge, the current available to the capacitor decreases. The flash takes noticeably longer to recycle between shots — sometimes several seconds — even when the battery indicator still shows charge remaining. This is a cell-voltage effect, not a fault. Swap to a freshly charged NP-30 when recycling time exceeds two seconds.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the F440 display
The FinePix F440 maps its on-screen battery indicator to fixed voltage thresholds calibrated to the OEM cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell can have a slightly different curve shape, so the indicator jumps between levels rather than stepping down smoothly. This is a display mapping issue, not a capacity problem. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles in the camera body and the BMS will adjust its threshold tracking to the new cell's curve.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Fujifilm FinePix F440 shows a dead battery icon immediately after I put in the new NP-30 — is the cell faulty?
Not necessarily. The FinePix F440 BMS performs a voltage-threshold check on first insertion, and a new cell that hasn't been charged in the camera body can read below the display's minimum threshold even if the cell holds charge. Place the battery in the camera and connect the OEM charger or USB adapter for a full charge cycle before powering on. After one complete in-body charge, the BMS accepts the cell and the indicator reads correctly. If the icon persists after a full charge, check that the three battery contacts are clean and fully seated.
Shot count seems lower than I expected from my FinePix F450 with this battery — what's drawing it down faster?
The FinePix F450's flash, optical zoom motor, and continuous autofocus all draw from the same 300mAh cell simultaneously. Heavy flash use in particular pulls a large recharge current spike with every shot, which depletes the cell faster than still-image shot-count estimates assume. Shot count figures are typically calculated under controlled conditions without continuous flash or optical zoom cycling. To extend time between charges, switch to natural light where possible and use the fixed-focus or manual focus mode to cut AF motor draw.
The FinePix F440 body gets noticeably warm during video recording and the camera shuts off — what's happening?
Sustained video on the F440 combines sensor readout, image processor load, and display backlight into a continuous high-draw state that the 300mAh NP-30 sustains at a higher current rate than stills shooting. As the cell approaches its lower voltage cutoff under that sustained load, the BMS triggers a protective shutdown before the indicator reaches zero. This is normal BMS behaviour protecting the cell from over-discharge. Let the camera cool for two minutes, then charge the battery to 3.7V or above before restarting a video session.
