Fits Fukuda Cardisuny C120 ECG units; replaces OEM part HHR-16A8W1.
This 9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers consistent output for cardiac monitoring sessions.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a spring latch; polarity marked on housing.
We bench-tested the cell on full charge-discharge cycles; BMS voltage held stable across load.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption—the medical device BMS verifies new cell chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fukuda Cardisuny C120 — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (HHR-16A8W1)

This is a 9.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Fukuda Cardisuny C120 portable ECG machine. It fits the ECG Cardisuny C120 and ME Cardisuny C120 variants. OEM part number is HHR-16A8W1.

  • C120 platform compatibility: The ECG and ME Cardisuny C120 variants share the same 9.6V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol — one battery covers both units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the C120's charge and discharge sequence. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its verification handshake, and held voltage within the expected operating window across all test cycles.
  • Post-installation self-test requirement: After fitting this battery, let the C120 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that sticks until the next clean reboot.

C120 not completing boot sequence after battery swap

The Cardisuny C120 runs a multi-stage BMS verification during boot. A new Ni-MH cell fresh from storage may sit at a resting voltage slightly below the threshold the BMS expects to see at the start of that sequence. The device interprets this as a fault and halts before the ECG interface loads. Charge the battery fully on the C120 charger first, then power on — this brings resting voltage to the level the boot routine requires.

Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge

This happens on the first one to three cycles with a new Ni-MH cell. The C120's BMS compares internal resistance and voltage recovery against a stored OEM chemistry profile. A new cell hasn't been conditioned yet, so its recovery curve doesn't match the profile threshold — the alarm fires even though capacity is present. Run one complete charge and discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS re-evaluates the cell and the alarm clears at normal charge levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

The C120 powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during a recording — why does this happen with a new battery?

New Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first several cycles, which causes voltage to sag under the sustained load of an active ECG recording. The C120's BMS interprets that sag as low-battery cutoff and terminates power to protect the circuit. This resolves as the cell conditions. Run at least five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery in a clinical setting.

The C120 won't power on at all after the replacement battery spent several months sitting in storage — is the battery dead?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge in storage, and if the resting voltage drops below approximately 8.5V the C120's BMS will not initiate the boot sequence — it treats the cell as critically depleted. Place the battery on the C120's charger for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to power on. In most cases the charge IC recovers the cell and normal boot follows.

The charge indicator on the C120 never reaches 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is the charger or battery at fault?

Neither is faulty. The C120's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it doesn't recognise a conditioned cell profile, and it terminates the charge cycle early as a precaution. This is normal on cycle one for a new Ni-MH cell. Complete a full discharge on the device, then run a second full charge — the charge IC recalibrates and the indicator will reach 100% from cycle two onwards.
