This 11.1V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery fits the BIONICS BPM-770 portable patient monitor. The BPM-770 is a clinical vital signs monitor used for continuous SpO2, heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature monitoring during patient transport and bedside care. Capacity is rated at 28.86Wh per the product specification.

Why the BPM-770 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

This is not a fault with the replacement pack — it reflects the BMS calibrating to the new cell's actual charge curve. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical deployment to allow the BMS to register the pack correctly.

BPM-770 will not power on after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell — 7.5V for a 3S pack — the BPM-770's BMS will block power-on as a deep-discharge protection response. Connect the pack to a known-good charger rated for 11.1V Li-ion and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on the device. If the charge indicator does not respond within 30 minutes, the cells may be below the charger's own recovery threshold and the pack should be replaced.

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty pack. The BPM-770's charge management circuit sets an internal capacity threshold based on OEM cell chemistry, and a new replacement cell needs one full charge-discharge cycle before it passes that verification. The alarm clears once the BMS has mapped the new cell's actual charge curve. Run one complete cycle — full charge to discharge — before placing the device in clinical use.

The BPM-770 shuts off unexpectedly during monitoring, but the battery showed adequate charge on the status display before the shift started.

Medical monitors run a demanding load profile — the BPM-770 cycles through sensor polling, display refresh, and alarm circuits simultaneously. New cells carry higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under that combined load than the status display accounts for. The BMS reads the sag as a cutoff condition and shuts the device down before the displayed percentage reaches zero. After 8–10 full charge cycles, internal resistance drops and the voltage sag reduces to a level the BMS tolerates. Condition the pack with full cycles before relying on it for extended monitoring sessions.

The BPM-770 fails its self-test after a battery swap and shows a battery fault flag — how do I clear it?

The fault flag is written when the power-on self-test sequence is interrupted before the BMS verification step completes. This happens if the device is powered off during boot, or if the battery was installed while the device was mid-cycle. Power the BPM-770 off completely, confirm the replacement pack is seated and making full contact, then power on and allow the boot sequence to run through to the home monitoring screen without touching any controls. A clean, uninterrupted boot cycle clears the flag; if it persists after two clean boots, check that pack voltage is above 10.5V before installation.
