This is a 36V 2700mAh Li-ion battery for Garden Feelings cordless lawn mowers. It fits the IAM 36-3730 F, IAM 36-4340-1N F, IAM 36-4340-1S F, and GDLM3640 models. Voltage and connector match the original pack exactly.

  • IAM 36 series and GDLM3640 compatibility: These mowers share the same 36V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers all four models without adapters or modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full charge and load discharge on a 36V mower platform. The BMS held stable across normal cutting loads and responded correctly to overcurrent conditions without nuisance tripping.
  • First use of the season: If the mower has sat in a cold garage over winter, bring the battery indoors overnight before use. Below 10°C, Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS before a single row is cut.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass and wet-grass blade load

Tall or wet grass puts sustained high-draw load on the blade motor. At peak demand, current can spike past the BMS overcurrent threshold, causing the pack to cut out mid-row. This is a protection event, not a battery fault. Let the pack rest for five minutes, then resume on a lower cutting height or a drier section. If cutouts repeat consistently, check that the blade is sharp — a dull blade draws significantly more current for the same grass volume.

A pack stored below a full charge over several months can self-discharge below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage. Most 36V chargers refuse to engage a cell group sitting under roughly 30V. The fix is a recovery charge — some chargers have a wake or reconditioning mode; select it and leave the pack connected for at least 30 minutes before checking. If the fault clears, continue with a normal full charge cycle before putting the mower back into service.

My Garden Feelings mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a short wait — what's causing that?

That's thermal protection triggering inside the BMS. Sustained blade load — especially in thick or damp grass — drives cell temperature up, and the BMS shuts the pack down before cells reach a damaging temperature. A five-minute rest lets the pack cool enough to reset. If it keeps happening, lower the cutting height or check that the blade is sharp, as a dull blade draws noticeably more current.

The charger won't accept my battery after it sat in the garage all winter — the fault light comes on immediately. What do I do?

Self-discharge over winter has pulled the pack below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage. Most 36V chargers block charging below roughly 30V as a safety measure. If your charger has a recovery or reconditioning mode, activate it and leave the pack connected for 30 minutes. Once the fault light clears, run a full normal charge before using the mower.

The mower feels noticeably weaker on the first cut of spring compared to last autumn — is the battery dying?

Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, which reduces the current they can deliver to the blade motor. Below 10°C, capacity loss of 15–20% is normal and temporary. Bring the battery indoors overnight before the first spring use, then charge it fully at room temperature. Power output returns to normal once the cells are at or above 15°C.
