Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Forerunner 620 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00076-00)
This 3.7V, 250mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin Forerunner 620 GPS running watch. It matches the OEM part number 361-00076-00 and fits the watch's compact 31.30 x 20.10 x 5.30mm battery bay. Swap it in when your 620 can no longer hold enough charge to complete a long run or daily training session.
- Forerunner 620 fit: The 620 uses a dedicated connector and form factor tied to this cell. The BMS on the watch's power management board expects the voltage curve of a 3.7V Li-Polymer cell — substituting a different chemistry or voltage rating will trigger protection cutoffs or cause inaccurate fuel gauge readings.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Forerunner 620 test unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags. The fuel gauge recalibrated correctly after one full charge-discharge cycle, and GPS and heart rate sensor draws remained within expected current limits throughout.
- Post-swap charge protocol for the Forerunner 620: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before powering it on for use. The 620's fuel gauge IC loses its reference point when the original cell is removed — it cannot recalibrate accurately unless it sees a full charge from near-zero on the new cell before the first active cycle.
Why the Forerunner 620 shows 0% immediately after a battery swap
The 620 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by measuring current flow in and out of the cell over time. When you remove the old battery, the IC loses its stored reference entirely — it wakes up with no baseline and defaults to 0% or refuses to display a reading. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the watch to 100% on the magnetic charger without interruption before the first use, and the IC will lock onto the new cell's capacity curve and report accurately from that point forward.
Forerunner 620 not pairing with phone after battery replacement
Removing the battery cuts power to the Bluetooth module and clears its active session data. The phone's Bluetooth stack still holds the old pairing record, but the watch comes back up with no matching session — so the two devices cannot reconnect automatically. On the phone, go to Bluetooth settings, forget the Forerunner 620, then re-pair it from scratch through the Garmin Connect app. The watch will generate a new pairing key and the connection will restore normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Forerunner 620 drains the new battery in a single day — is something wrong with the cell?
A new Li-Polymer cell in the 620 can show faster-than-expected drain for the first three to five charge cycles while the fuel gauge IC calibrates to the new cell's impedance profile. Check whether continuous heart rate monitoring and always-on GPS logging are both active — those two sensors running together represent the highest sustained current draw the 620 produces. If drain persists beyond five full cycles, disable continuous HR in the activity settings and run a GPS-only session to isolate which sensor is pulling excess current. A fully calibrated cell holding a stable load should read above 3.6V at rest after a partial discharge.
The magnetic charger contacts aren't making a connection after I reassembled the watch — the charging icon never appears.
The charge contacts on the 620's case back sit on a small flex pad that shifts slightly if the rear cover is reseated under even light lateral pressure. Remove the case back, check that the contact pad lies flat and centred, then reseat the cover with even pressure at each corner before securing the screws. Once reassembled, place the watch on the charger and press gently downward — the charging icon should appear within five seconds of a good contact. If it still doesn't appear, clean both the watch contacts and the charger pins with a dry cotton swab to remove any residue from handling.
GPS is locking on much slower than usual since the battery swap — is the new cell causing this?
GPS acquisition speed is not directly affected by the cell itself, but a watch that powers on with a 0% fuel gauge reading may throttle background processes — including the GPS almanac cache — until the IC stabilises after a full charge. Charge the 620 to 100% without interruption, then take it outside and allow a cold GPS fix with a clear sky view. If acquisition is still slow after that, go to Settings > System > GPS and trigger a manual satellite data update via Garmin Express, which refreshes the almanac file the 620 uses to predict satellite positions.
