Replaces Garmin part numbers 361-00019-16 and 361-00019-12 for Nuvi 1300, Nuvi 1350, Nuvi 1350T, and Nuvi 1370 GPS navigators.
This 3.7V 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 4.63Wh — enough capacity to power the touchscreen display and GPS receiver through a full day of turn-by-turn navigation.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation is marked on the device housing and battery housing must align flush.
We bench-tested the cell in a Nuvi 1350 and confirmed the BMS accepted charge at 0.5C with no early cutoff; voltage held steady through a discharge cycle.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Nuvi 1300 / 1350 / 1370 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00019-16)

This 3.7V 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin Nuvi 1300, 1350, 1350T, and 1370 portable GPS navigators. It matches OEM part numbers 361-00019-16 and 361-00019-12. Fit the new cell when the existing battery no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns during navigation.

  • Nuvi 1300 series battery platform: The 1300, 1350, 1350T, and 1370 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V supply rail. One cell covers all these variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge runs on Nuvi 1300 hardware. The BMS held charge termination cleanly at 4.2V and cut off at the low-voltage threshold without tripping early or allowing overdischarge.
  • First-fix satellite tip: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors in open sky and leave it stationary. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — expect 5–10 minutes to acquire a first satellite fix. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery charge falls

The Nuvi 1300 reduces power to the GPS receiver module when battery voltage sags toward the low threshold. At reduced receiver sensitivity, the unit struggles to maintain lock on weaker satellite signals — particularly in urban canyons or under tree cover. Position drift and longer re-acquisition times are the first signs. Keeping the battery charged above 20% avoids this power-saving cutback and maintains full receiver sensitivity.

Nuvi shutting off without low-battery warning

The battery indicator on the Nuvi 1300 reads state-of-charge from a voltage curve. After a battery swap, the firmware's internal charge model is uncalibrated against the new cell. The unit can display two or three bars right up until voltage drops sharply at the knee of the discharge curve, triggering a hard cutoff with no warning. Run one full charge-to-cutoff cycle on the new battery — the firmware recalibrates its voltage mapping and warning thresholds align correctly from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nuvi 1300 took almost 10 minutes to find a GPS signal after I swapped the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the satellite almanac data the GPS holds in memory, forcing a cold start from scratch. The receiver has to download fresh orbital data from satellites before it can lock — this takes 5 to 10 minutes in open sky. Every subsequent power-on will be a warm start and lock in under a minute, provided the unit isn't stored for weeks without use.

After replacing the battery, my saved routes and favourite POIs were gone — did I do something wrong during the swap?

Some Nuvi models store recent route data and unsaved favourites in volatile memory that depends on continuous battery power. When power is fully removed for a swap, that data clears. Saved favourites written to internal flash or the SD card survive the swap intact. Before any future battery work, export your POI list via Garmin Express or copy the GPX files off the SD card as a backup.

My Nuvi 1300 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when it's just sitting on the dash — is the new battery faulty?

This is normal behaviour, not a cell fault. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, touchscreen backlight, and map processor simultaneously — that combination draws significantly more current than standby. Drop screen brightness to 50% or below to reduce the display's share of the load, which is typically the largest single drain. If the unit still cuts off unusually early, run one full charge cycle so the firmware recalibrates its voltage-to-charge-level mapping against the new cell.
