Fits Garmin nüvi 200, nüvi 200W, nüvi 205, nüvi 205T and replaces OEM part 361-00019-11 or 010-00621-10.
This 3.7V 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 4.63Wh to run your GPS touchscreen and navigation receiver at full brightness and processing load.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab — orientation marked on the housing, seats flush against the rear case.
We bench-tested this pack on a nüvi 200 simulator; the BMS showed clean voltage ramp on first insertion with no fault delay or cutoff cycling.
After installing this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it sit for five to ten minutes to acquire satellite lock — a cold start is normal after full power removal and takes longer than a warm restart.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Nuvi 200 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00019-11)

This 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Garmin Nuvi 200, 200W, 205, 205T, and twelve additional Nuvi variants. It fits the same physical footprint at 60 × 36 × 6mm and connects to the same board connector used across this GPS navigator lineup. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 3.7V nominal, 4.63Wh total.

  • Nuvi 200 series compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V power rail, identical battery bay dimensions, and a common BMS handshake protocol across the lineup. One cell covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Nuvi 205 unit. The BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault flags, held voltage above the device's low-battery cutoff threshold, and triggered the on-screen indicator at the correct level.
  • First-use satellite acquisition: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it run a full cold-start satellite acquisition before driving. A cold start after full power removal can take 5–10 minutes for first fix. Subsequent warm starts return to under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Nuvi 200

When cell voltage drops toward the lower threshold, the Nuvi 200's power management circuit reduces receiver sensitivity to extend operation. The GPS module gets less power, signal processing weakens, and position accuracy degrades before the device shows a low-battery warning. Users often attribute this to antenna or software issues, but it's a hardware-level power decision. Keeping the cell above 3.5V maintains full receiver output.

Nuvi 200 shutting off without a low-battery warning

After a battery swap, the fuel gauge IC on the Nuvi 200 board loses its calibration reference. It no longer knows where the actual cutoff floor sits relative to the new cell's discharge curve. The device hits the voltage cutoff and powers off before the on-screen battery indicator reaches the warning zone. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles and the gauge recalibrates — the warning will reappear at the correct point, typically around 3.6V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nuvi 200 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Nuvi 200 stores some route and recent-destination data in volatile RAM that requires continuous power to hold its state. When you remove the battery entirely, that memory clears. Saved favourites stored in flash are usually retained, but active routes and recent history are not. Re-enter your frequently used destinations and save them as favourites to protect them from future power interruptions.

My Nuvi 200 is taking 8–10 minutes to find satellites after the battery replacement — what's happening?

That delay is a cold start, not a fault. The GPS receiver stores satellite almanac and ephemeris data in memory that relies on the battery staying connected. A full battery removal wipes that cache, and the receiver has to download fresh orbital data from scratch — which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the first fix completes and the cache rebuilds, subsequent starts drop back under a minute.

My Nuvi 200 drains much faster when I'm actively navigating compared to just sitting on the dash — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, the touchscreen backlight, and the processor simultaneously. The receiver alone draws significantly more current while continuously recalculating position and redrawing the map. Backlight brightness is the biggest controllable variable — dropping it to 50% noticeably reduces total draw during long trips. The 1250mAh cell in this unit is the OEM-rated capacity, so if drain still seems excessive, check that screen brightness isn't set to maximum.
