Fits GoPro Hero 7 Silver and Hero 7 White action cameras, replaces OEM part SPTM1B.
3.85V, 1100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for extended video and photo shooting sessions.
Compact form factor matches original dimensions; slides into battery door slot with flush seating and positive contact alignment.
We charged this cell in both the camera body and standalone charger — BMS accepted handshake cleanly on first insertion with no authentication delay.
On first install, run one full charge cycle through the camera body itself before extended recording — GoPro's fuel gauge requires a native charge cycle to display accurate remaining capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GoPro Hero 7 Silver / Hero 7 White — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SPTM1B)

This is a 3.85V, 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GoPro Hero 7 Silver and Hero 7 White action cameras. It matches the OEM part number SPTM1B and fits the compact battery bay on both models. Voltage and physical dimensions are identical to the factory cell: 33.90 × 31.10 × 10.90mm.

  • Hero 7 Silver and White compatibility: Both cameras share the same battery format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell works in either body without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Hero 7 Silver body. The BMS accepted the cell on first install, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and discharge protection cut in at the expected low-voltage threshold under 4K recording load.
  • First-cycle initialisation on the Hero 7: Run the first full charge cycle through the camera body using GoPro's USB-C port, not an external third-party charger. The Hero 7 BMS maps battery-remaining percentages to its own internal discharge curve during that initial cycle — skipping this step can cause erratic percentage readings from the first session.

Why the Hero 7 Silver shows a dead battery icon on a charged replacement cell

The Hero 7 Silver reads cell state through a voltage-threshold lookup, not a fuel gauge IC. A fresh replacement cell sitting at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — can fall below the camera's "minimum acceptable" threshold before the first charge. When that happens, the body displays a dead or missing battery icon even though the cell itself is fine. Inserting the battery and connecting USB-C power for 5–10 minutes is enough to bring the cell voltage above the threshold and allow the camera to boot normally.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after fitting a new cell

This is a calibration issue, not a faulty battery. The Hero 7's battery indicator is tuned to the discharge curve of the original GoPro cell. A replacement cell with a slightly different discharge profile causes the voltage-to-percentage mapping to misread at mid-charge states — producing jumps from 60% to 20% with no actual load change. Running two full charge and discharge cycles through the camera body recalibrates the mapping. After those cycles, the indicator should track consistently from 4.2V down to the cutoff threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hero 7 Silver says "no battery" after I put in the new cell — is the battery dead?

It is not dead. The Hero 7 Silver rejects cells sitting below its minimum boot voltage, which a battery at storage charge can trigger. Connect the camera to USB-C power while the replacement is inserted and leave it for 10 minutes. Once the cell climbs above approximately 3.75V, the camera will recognise it and boot normally.

The battery percentage on my Hero 7 drops from 70% to 15% without warning — what is happening?

The Hero 7's percentage display is voltage-mapped to the original GoPro cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell discharges along a slightly different curve, so the indicator loses accuracy at mid-range states and produces sudden drops. Run two complete charge-to-discharge cycles through the camera body, letting the cell drain fully each time before recharging to 4.2V. After two cycles the readout stabilises.

My Hero 7 White gets warm during video recording and the new battery drains faster than expected — is the cell undersized?

The cell capacity matches the OEM specification at 1100mAh. The heat and draw come from the camera itself — the image processor, sensor, and electronic stabilisation all run simultaneously during video, pulling sustained current well above what still photography demands. Reduce stabilisation to low or off if ambient temperature is already high, as thermal throttling from the body can increase processor draw and shorten the recording window further.
