Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GoPro Wi-Fi Remote — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (YD362937P)

This 3.7V, 350mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the OEM cell inside the GoPro Wi-Fi Remote (ARMTE-001). It fits the remote used with HERO3 and HERO4 series cameras to trigger recording and control playback wirelessly. Swap it when the remote stops holding charge or powers off unexpectedly during a shoot.

  • ARMTE-001 and HERO3/HERO4 remote compatibility: These remotes share the same battery bay, connector polarity, and 3.7V cell spec across the Wi-Fi Remote lineup. One part number covers all of them because the power circuit and physical footprint are identical.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the ARMTE-001 remote. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and the remote paired and responded to camera commands throughout testing.
  • Connector orientation on reinstall: The flex connector on this remote sits flush against the PCB with a locking tab. Press it straight down until it clicks — angling it sideways cracks the connector housing and causes intermittent power loss that looks like a dead battery.

Why the Wi-Fi Remote loses pairing range before the battery looks dead

The remote's wireless transmitter needs a stable voltage rail to push a clean signal. As the lithium-polymer cell ages, internal resistance rises and voltage sags under the transmitter's draw — even if the remote still powers on. Below roughly 3.5V under load, the signal becomes weak enough that the camera drops commands at distances that previously worked fine. Replacing the cell restores the voltage headroom the transmitter needs to operate at full output.

Remote shows solid LED on charge but reads flat immediately after

This happens when the cell has dropped below the battery management circuit's recovery threshold — typically under 2.5V — due to sitting discharged for an extended period. The charger sees the LED trigger voltage but the cell can't hold energy once disconnected. Some cells recover with a slow trickle charge held at 2.8–3.0V for 20–30 minutes before a full charge cycle is attempted. If the cell returns to flat within seconds of removing from the charger, the cell is unrecoverable and must be replaced.

Frequently Asked Questions

I installed the new battery and the remote won't turn on at all — what did I miss?

The most likely cause is the flex connector not fully seated. The locking tab needs to click flat against the PCB — a partial connection gives no power. Also check that the connector isn't reversed; the cable only runs one way but it's possible to force it backwards, which prevents any voltage reaching the board. Re-open the remote, lift the connector fully, realign it, and press straight down until it seats.

The remote turns on but I have to hold it within a few centimetres of the camera for it to register — is the battery the problem?

Yes, this is a voltage sag issue. The wireless transmitter in the ARMTE-001 draws a short burst of current each time you press a button, and an aged or partially charged cell can't sustain the voltage needed for full transmission power. The remote appears functional at rest but can't drive the IR or RF output at range. Charge the new cell fully before first use and confirm the remote connects at normal distance — if it does, the old cell was the cause.

The replacement battery drains noticeably faster than the original did when it was new — what causes that?

Check for a stuck or jammed button on the remote housing. A button that doesn't fully spring back keeps the internal circuit partially active, drawing current continuously even when you think the remote is idle. Press each button and confirm it rebounds cleanly with no drag. If all buttons move freely, check that the remote isn't sitting in a bag or case where pressure keeps a button depressed between uses.
