Fits GP60AAK3BMS and GP80AAS3BMX cordless phone handsets, replacing original 3.6V Ni-MH batteries.
3.6V and 700mAh capacity deliver full talk and standby time matching OEM spec on compatible DECT base stations.
Connector is a two-pin dock interface; battery seats flat into handset bay with positive terminal forward, locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested on a compatible base station — NiMH BMS accepted voltage threshold on first dock, no fault light, cell voltage stable under transmit load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP GP60AAK3BMS / GP80AAS3BMX — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH battery pack for cordless phones using GP OEM part numbers GP60AAK3BMS or GP80AAS3BMX. It fits handsets that take either of these packs directly. Voltage, connector, and cell count match the original spec.

  • GP60AAK3BMS and GP80AAS3BMX compatibility: Both part numbers share the same 3.6V three-cell NiMH configuration and connector footprint. Handsets built around either OEM pack accept this replacement without modification to the battery bay or charging contacts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible bench charger. The BMS held stable at 3.6V nominal and accepted the trickle charge rate the base station applies during standby topping.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phone packs need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this leaves cells mismatched and shortens overall pack life.

Base station charge light staying red or showing error after swap

NiMH packs lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for several months, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. Some bases will flash an error light or refuse to begin a charge cycle when they detect voltage below roughly 3.0V. Seating the handset and leaving it undisturbed for 30 minutes usually allows the base to detect a slow recovery and begin trickle charging. If the error persists, remove the handset for 10 seconds and reseat it firmly until the contacts click.

Talk time shorter than expected for the first few uses

NiMH cells require three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — 700mAh in this pack. On the first and second cycle, you will get noticeably shorter talk time than the original battery delivered at its best. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect. Run the handset until the low-battery alert sounds, return it to the base for a full overnight charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did the replacement wipe the pairing?

Removing the battery completely cuts power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones lose their pairing record when power drops to zero. The replacement battery didn't cause this — the power interruption did. Re-register the handset using the base station's registration button, following the steps in your phone's manual. Once re-paired, the handset holds the pairing as long as the battery stays installed.

The handset is sitting in the base but the battery is almost flat by morning — why is it draining overnight?

A full drain overnight points to the handset not making clean contact with the charging pins, not a battery fault. Check that the handset clicks fully into the base cradle — a slight tilt keeps the contacts from closing the charge circuit. Wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth to remove oxidation. After reseating, confirm the charge indicator light activates within 30 seconds of docking.

The handset range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — it cuts out much closer to the base than before.

NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load a DECT handset draws during a call. If the pack hasn't completed its conditioning cycles yet, its effective voltage under load sits lower than the original battery's, and the transmitter power follows it down. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles as described in the listing. If range is still reduced after cycle five, check the handset's signal indicator at the point of cutout — if the bar drops suddenly rather than fading, the pack voltage is sagging below 3.2V under load and the cells need further conditioning.
