This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Sharp cordless phone handsets including the 3600, CL100W, CL200, and CL300 series. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores wireless communication from the base station. Voltage and cell chemistry match the original pack specification.
- 3600 / CL-series handset compatibility: These models share the same 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH rail, physical footprint (50.79 × 42.40 × 14.23mm), and connector orientation — no modification needed across this handset family.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Sharp CL-series base station. The BMS accepted charge without error, and cell voltage stabilised at the expected 1.2V per cell under standby draw.
- First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones are trickle-charged by the base station — a shortened first charge leaves capacity on the table for the first several cycles.

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage in storage. If the pack ships below approximately 3.0V, some Sharp base stations will not initiate a charge cycle — the base reads the voltage as out of range. This is not a fault with the base or the battery. Place the handset in the base and leave it undisturbed for 30–60 minutes. The trickle circuit will recover the pack once voltage climbs back into the acceptance window, and the charge indicator will then behave normally.
Talk time shorter than expected for the first few cycles
Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. New cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach 700mAh. The base station's trickle charger drives this process automatically — just use the handset normally and return it to the base each time. By cycle four or five, talk time should align with the rated capacity.

My Sharp cordless handset shows full bars on the battery icon but drops the call or goes silent after a few minutes — what's happening?
This is a voltage sag issue. The battery icon reads resting voltage, which looks healthy, but when the RF transmitter draws current during a call, a low-capacity or under-conditioned Ni-MH pack can't hold voltage under that load. The handset interprets the sag as a dead battery and cuts out. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles on the new pack — resting voltage and load voltage will converge as the cells condition, and the drop-outs will stop.
The handset lost its pairing with the base station after I swapped the battery — how do I fix this?
Some Sharp DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory backed by the battery. When power is fully removed during a swap, that memory clears. Re-register the handset from the base station's handset registration menu — on most Sharp CL-series models, hold the Find/Page button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset prompts. No replacement is needed; this is a one-time re-pairing step.
The handset battery drains completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — is the base not charging it?
This is a seating issue in most cases. If the handset contacts don't make a clean connection with the base cradle, the base won't charge and standby draw will flatten the pack by morning. Remove the handset, check both the handset and cradle contacts for dust or corrosion, and reseat firmly. If the charge indicator light on the base does not illuminate after reseating, clean the contacts with a dry cloth and try again — the light confirms the trickle circuit is active.
