3.6V 600mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 2.16Wh — matches original capacity for full talk time on DECT handsets.
Cylindrical AA form factor with solder tabs; slots into handset battery compartment with spring contact orientation.
We bench-tested this cell in a GP DECT base station — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no voltage threshold fault.
After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP T279 / T301 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (60AAH3BMU)

This is a 3.6V, 600mAh Ni-MH battery pack for GP cordless phone handsets. It replaces part numbers T279, T301, 60AAH3BMU, 30AAAM3BML, 50AAK3BML, 60AAH3BML, and 75AAH3BMJZ. If your handset no longer holds charge or drops calls mid-conversation, this pack restores the handset to working condition.

  • T279 and T301 platform fit: These part numbers share the same cell count, voltage rail, and connector format. The 3.6V nominal output matches the handset's charging circuit directly — no adaptation needed between variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The cells accepted charge cleanly at the 3.6V threshold and the voltage profile stayed consistent across the first five cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first use. Ni-MH cells in cordless phone packs need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the main reason replacement batteries appear to underperform early on.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new Ni-MH pack

Fresh Ni-MH packs often ship partially discharged after months in storage. Some cordless base stations check the incoming pack voltage before starting a charge cycle — if the pack sits below roughly 3.0V, the base may refuse to charge or show a fault light. This is a voltage threshold check, not a fault with the battery or base. To recover, some users briefly charge the pack externally at a low rate to bring it above the base's acceptance floor. Once the pack reads above 3.2V, the base typically recognises it and begins a normal charge cycle.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few charges

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a defective pack. Rated capacity of 600mAh is typically reached after three to five full charge and discharge cycles. Each cycle conditions the cells and allows the electrolyte to distribute evenly across the plates. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator activates, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times and talk time should stabilise at the rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My cordless handset is losing range after I swapped in a new battery — it cuts out further from the base than it used to. What's causing this?

Range drop after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF load. When the Ni-MH pack hasn't been fully conditioned yet, its internal resistance is higher, and the transmit circuit pulls the voltage down during active calls. This reduces transmit power and shrinks the usable range. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles — range typically stabilises once the pack voltage holds steady above 3.2V under load.

My handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — it won't connect even though the base is on.

Some DECT cordless phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Swapping the battery cuts all power to the handset, which is enough to wipe the pairing. Re-register the handset using the base station's registration button — on most cordless systems this means holding the page or find button on the base for five seconds, then following the handset's on-screen pairing prompt.

The handset is draining overnight even when it's sitting in the base. Is the battery faulty?

A handset draining overnight while in the base is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. The charging contacts on the handset or base may be dirty or misaligned, so the pack draws standby current from the cells rather than the mains. Clean both sets of contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the handset firmly, and check that the charge indicator light activates. If the indicator confirms charging, leave it for a full 16-hour cycle and recheck capacity.
