Fits Grundig LC-280, LC-380HE, LC-835E, LC-855HE and nine additional Grundig digital camera models as direct OEM replacement.
7.4V, 4400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 32.56Wh — matches original capacity for full shot count on flash, continuous autofocus, and video stabilisation.
Battery connector slides straight into camera body slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab engaging left side of compartment.
We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge on a LC-280 body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no authentication errors or voltage rail drift.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle through the camera body charger before sustained shooting — Grundig camera systems map battery percentage to discharge curve during initial charge cycle, and skipping this step causes erratic percentage display on partially depleted cells.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grundig LC-280 / LC-380HE / LC-835E Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V, 4400mAh lithium-ion battery fits the Grundig LC-280, LC-380HE, LC-835E, LC-855HE, and nine additional Grundig camera models sharing the same battery bay. It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded and the camera no longer holds a full charge. Voltage and cell format match the OEM specification exactly.

  • LC-280 and LC-380HE series compatibility: These models share a common battery bay geometry, contact pitch, and 7.4V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake protocol is consistent across the series, so one cell format covers all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Grundig LC-series body. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and cell voltage held stable across the discharge curve from 8.4V full charge down to the 6.0V cutoff threshold.
  • First-install charge cycle on Grundig bodies: Run the first charge from inside the camera body using the OEM charging port rather than an external charger. Grundig's battery-remaining display calibrates its percentage mapping during the first in-body charge cycle — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Camera battery percentage jumping erratically after fitting a new cell

The Grundig LC-series camera maps battery percentage by reading cell voltage against a stored discharge curve from the previous cell. A new 4400mAh cell has a flatter discharge curve than an aged original, so voltage readings at mid-charge don't land on the expected thresholds. The indicator can jump from 80% to 40% or freeze at a fixed value. One full in-body charge cycle resets the curve mapping and corrects the display.

Shot count lower than expected when shooting with flash enabled

Rated shot counts are calculated under controlled conditions without continuous flash use. Each flash cycle draws a capacitor recharge current spike that adds significant load on top of sensor and processor draw. On the LC-280 and similar bodies, sustained flash shooting can pull the effective shot count well below the quoted figure. To extend usable charge between swaps, shoot in available light where possible and let the flash recycle fully before firing again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Grundig LC-280 shows "no battery" or won't recognise the new cell — what's happening?

The LC-series BMS runs an authentication check on insertion and can reject an uncharged replacement cell outright. Place the battery in an OEM-compatible charger until it reaches at least 50% charge, then insert it into the camera body and power on. If the error persists, perform one full charge cycle through the camera body itself — this completes the handshake and clears the rejection flag. After one full cycle, the camera should read the cell normally.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during extended video recording — is the battery causing this?

The battery itself contributes some heat, but the main source during video is combined draw from the image sensor, processor, image stabilisation motor, and EVF or LCD running simultaneously. This sustained multi-system load pulls more current than still shooting, raising both body and cell temperature. The LC-series thermal protection in the battery will cut output if cell temperature crosses a safe threshold, which may cause the camera to shut down. If this happens repeatedly, allow the body to cool for five minutes and resume — cell voltage should read above 7.0V on resume if the cutoff was thermal rather than capacity-related.

The battery percentage drops faster in cold weather — is the cell faulty?

It's not a fault. Lithium-ion cells lose effective capacity as temperature drops because electrolyte ion mobility slows, raising internal resistance. At temperatures below 10°C, a fully charged 4400mAh cell can behave as though it holds significantly less charge. The camera's voltage-based indicator amplifies this — the voltage sag under load in the cold maps to a lower percentage than actual state of charge. Warm the battery to room temperature in a jacket pocket before shooting, and the indicated capacity will recover without any fault present.
