Fits Grundig MPixx 8000, MPixx 8400, and MPixx 8800 portable media players; replaces OEM battery YK503450PL 1S1P.
3.7V at 1050mAh supplies enough charge for full playback cycles on these compact players without mid-session cutoff.
Connector is a two-pin JST-style plug; orientation locked by keyed housing — seats flush against the rear compartment wall.
We bench-tested this cell through five full charge-discharge cycles; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no voltage threshold errors.
On first charge after installation, use the original charger and let it run uninterrupted — the MPixx firmware recalibrates its percentage display during the initial top-up cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Grundig MPixx 8000 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (YK503450PL 1S1P)

This 3.7V 1050mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Grundig MPixx 8000, MPixx 8400, and MPixx 8800 portable media players. The YK503450PL 1S1P matches the physical footprint at 51.80 × 32.85 × 5.40mm and the connector pinout of the factory cell. Capacity is 1050mAh (3.89Wh), identical to the OEM specification.

  • MPixx 8000, 8400, and 8800 compatibility: All three models share the same single-cell 3.7V battery bay, connector orientation, and BMS handshake logic, so one cell fits the entire range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an MPixx 8000 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • First charge after installation: Connect the player to its charger immediately after fitting the new cell and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge before first use. Media players frequently enter a deep-discharge protection state when a fresh cell is installed at resting voltage, and a continuous charge cycle clears this state before normal use begins.

Battery percentage jumping after cell swap on the MPixx series

The MPixx firmware reads battery state through a voltage-threshold lookup table stored in firmware, not a coulomb counter. After fitting a new cell, the player has no reference data for the new cell's discharge curve, so the percentage indicator recalibrates over the first few charge cycles. Expect erratic jumps — typically between 20% and 80% — for the first two or three full cycles. Run the player from a full charge down to automatic shutdown, then recharge fully, and the indicator stabilises. By cycle three, readings should track within roughly 10% of actual remaining capacity.

Playback cuts out before the battery indicator reaches empty

The audio amplifier inside the MPixx draws a brief current spike to drive headphone output, particularly at higher volume levels. Near the end of a cell's discharge curve, battery voltage sags under this load and can dip below the BMS protection cutoff — even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. The device shuts down to protect the cell, not because the indicator is accurate. To push past this, reduce playback volume in the final 15–20% of charge; lower amplifier draw reduces the voltage sag and delays the cutoff trip. If the issue appears early in the cell's life, check that the terminal voltage under load stays above 3.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MPixx 8000 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?

The cell has likely dropped below the BMS re-engagement threshold after extended storage self-discharge. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button — the protection circuit needs a slow trickle input before it allows current to flow to the board. If the charging indicator light appears within that window, the cell is recovering. If nothing appears after 45 minutes, the original cell has discharged beyond recovery and needs replacing.

The battery percentage on my MPixx 8400 jumps around wildly — it showed 60% then dropped to 5% in one song.

This happens because the MPixx firmware maps percentage to fixed voltage thresholds, not actual charge tracking. After a cell swap — or after a deeply discharged cycle — those thresholds lose alignment with the new cell's discharge curve. Run two or three full cycles: charge to 100%, play until the device shuts itself off, then recharge fully. By the third cycle the voltage curve and the firmware table re-align, and the percentage readout stabilises.

My MPixx 8800 cuts out mid-playback at high volume even when the battery shows 25% remaining.

The headphone amplifier pulls a current spike at high volume that causes a brief voltage sag at end-of-discharge — the BMS reads this sag as a low-voltage fault and cuts power to protect the cell. The percentage indicator is not tracking this in real time. Drop the volume by 20–30% when the indicator falls below 30% and the sag stays within the BMS tolerance window. If cutouts happen well above 30% charge, check that the cell terminal voltage under load is not falling below 3.0V, which would indicate a cell fault rather than a firmware calibration issue.
