Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Q-Sonic Multimedia X-Dream-Player / PE-2058 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PE2064-2)

This 7.4V, 1700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell pack in the Q-Sonic Multimedia X-Dream-Player and PE-2058 portable media player. It matches the OEM part numbers PE2064-2 and CGP345010G. Capacity is 12.58Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • X-Dream-Player and PE-2058 compatibility: Both models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one battery fits either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the X-Dream-Player's charge controller and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly, with charge termination triggering at the expected 8.4V cutoff.
  • Post-swap charge cycle: After fitting a new cell, charge the player fully before first use. Media players frequently enter deep-discharge protection after cell replacement, and the charge controller needs to push a slow trickle current before it transitions to normal CC/CV charging.

Battery percentage jumping around after a cell swap

The X-Dream-Player uses a voltage-threshold fuel gauge rather than a coulomb counter. When a new cell goes in, the gauge has no learned baseline to map voltage against remaining charge. It estimates state-of-charge from raw cell voltage, which causes the display to jump 10–20% in either direction until the BMS runs two or three full charge-discharge cycles and recalibrates its voltage curve. Run the player down to the low-battery warning and then charge to full — repeat twice and the percentage readout will stabilise.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator reads empty

The audio amplifier stage in the X-Dream-Player draws a spike of current when driving headphones at higher volumes. Near the end of a discharge cycle, cell voltage sags under that load and briefly dips below the BMS undervoltage threshold, triggering a protective cutoff even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS protecting the cells from damage. Lower playback volume during the final portion of charge or charge the unit when the indicator reaches one bar to avoid the cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My X-Dream-Player won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?

Most likely it entered deep-discharge protection, not full cell failure. Connect the charger and leave it alone for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button — the BMS needs to accept a trickle charge before it will allow the device to boot. If the charge LED does not illuminate within five minutes of connecting the charger, try a different cable, then retry; the charge controller requires a minimum input voltage of around 4.5V at the port before it responds.

The battery percentage on my X-Dream-Player jumps from 60% straight to 15% with no warning — what's causing that?

This happens because the X-Dream-Player's fuel gauge reads state-of-charge from cell voltage rather than tracking actual charge flow. After a cell swap, or after long storage, the gauge has no calibrated reference and misreads the voltage curve mid-discharge. Run the battery down to the low-battery cutoff, then charge fully to 8.4V — repeat that cycle twice and the percentage display will track correctly.

My X-Dream-Player cuts out during playback but powers back on immediately after I press the button — why?

The audio amplifier pulls a current spike when the volume is high, and near the end of discharge the cell voltage sags enough to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff — even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. The device restarts because voltage recovers the moment the load drops. Reduce playback volume in the last quarter of charge, or charge before the battery indicator hits one bar, and the mid-session cutoffs will stop.
