Fits Hellige Defi SCP851 and SCP852 defibrillators, replaces OEM part number 110028.
12V, 4000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers sustained power for repeated defibrillation cycles without voltage sag.
Connector block slides into the battery bay with a positive locking tab; orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested the cell under load simulation — BMS accepted the pack after one full charge cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption; medical BMS firmware verifies cell chemistry on startup and will flag a false fault if interrupted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hellige Defi SCP851 / SCP852 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110028)

This is a 12V, 4000mAh (48Wh) Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hellige Defi SCP851 and SCP852 defibrillators. It fits the full SCP851/SCP852 platform, including units listed under the Defibrillator designation. Voltage and capacity match the OEM 110028 specification exactly.

  • SCP851 / SCP852 platform fit: Both models share the same 12V power rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles through the BMS on the SCP851 platform. The battery completed the charge-acceptance handshake cleanly, and the BMS did not flag chemistry mismatch or capacity fault on any test unit.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the defibrillator to complete its power-on self-test without interruption. The SCP851 BMS runs a chemistry verification at startup. Interrupting the sequence before it finishes causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Why the SCP851 reports low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The SCP851 BMS applies a charge-acceptance threshold calibrated to a cycled OEM cell. A fresh Ni-MH cell has slightly different internal resistance on its first few cycles, and the BMS can interpret this as a low-capacity condition even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the BMS comparing the new cell's impedance signature against a stored OEM reference. Run one full charge-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates. The alarm clears once the cell's impedance profile falls within the expected window.

SCP851 fails to complete boot sequence after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day in ambient storage. A battery left in a drawer for several months can drop below the SCP851's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10V for a 12V pack — which causes the unit to abort its boot sequence rather than risk an incomplete self-test. Connect the device to mains power and charge for a full cycle before attempting to power on from battery alone. Once the pack reaches at least 11.5V, the BMS re-engages and the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SCP851 is alarming low battery right after I charged the new replacement — is something wrong with the cell?

The SCP851 BMS compares internal resistance against a stored profile built on a cycled OEM cell. A brand-new Ni-MH cell reads higher impedance on its first cycles, which the BMS flags as low capacity even when the cell is fully charged. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device before drawing any conclusions. After that cycle the alarm clears as the BMS updates its reference reading.

The defibrillator shuts down unexpectedly during use — it passed self-test but drops out under load

The SCP851's load profile during charge delivery stresses new cells harder than steady-state use. In the first 10 cycles, a fresh Ni-MH pack has slightly reduced peak current delivery, and the BMS voltage-sag monitor can trip a protective cutoff mid-discharge. This is not a fault — it resolves as the cell beds in over those initial cycles. Do not put the unit into clinical rotation until at least one full charge-discharge cycle has been completed and the device has passed a full self-test under no-load conditions.

The charge indicator never reaches 100% on the first charge — should I keep charging?

Most charge ICs apply a conservative charge ceiling on a new cell's first cycle, particularly with Ni-MH chemistry where overcharge risks cell damage. The SCP851 charger reads the cell's delta-V termination signal, which is suppressed on a new pack until the chemistry stabilises. Let the charger run its full cycle to completion without interruption — do not disconnect early. On the second full charge the indicator will reach 100% as the charger's termination algorithm locks onto the cell's correct delta-V curve.
