Fits Braun Infusomat fmS and Infusomat P infusion pumps, replaces OEM part numbers BRA110, 120089, MB1125P, and 110089-S.
7.2V nominal output at 3000mAh delivers the charge capacity this pump's control board requires for full operating cycles without mid-infusion shutdown.
Connector slides into the battery compartment with the locking tab facing forward; orientation is keyed and will not seat backwards on this model.
We bench-tested this cell on the Infusomat charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepts the charge profile without early cutoff or fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — Braun medical devices verify new battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Braun Infusomat fmS / Infusomat P — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BRA110)

This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Braun Infusomat fmS and Infusomat P infusion pumps. These pumps are used in hospital and clinical settings to deliver IV fluids and medications at controlled rates. The OEM part numbers this cell replaces include BRA110, 120089, MB1125P, and 110089-S.

  • Infusomat fmS and Infusomat P compatibility: Both models run the same 7.2V battery rail, use the same connector housing, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Infusomat's charge and load profile. The BMS completed its initialisation sequence, accepted the cell without fault codes, and held voltage within spec across the full discharge curve.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the pump to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Infusomat's BMS runs a verification routine at startup — interrupting it triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Infusomat fmS alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Infusomat's charge IC compares cell voltage against a stored threshold calibrated to the original factory cell. A new Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed its first full charge-discharge cycle may read slightly below that threshold even when fully charged, causing the BMS to flag a low-battery condition. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it's the BMS learning the new cell's chemistry profile. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-charge cycle before clinical deployment, and the alarm clears on its own.

Infusomat not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below approximately 6.0V, the Infusomat's BMS will not initiate a boot sequence — it treats the cell as deeply discharged and blocks startup as a protection measure. Place the battery on a compatible external Ni-MH charger first to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before inserting it into the pump. Once the cell reads above 6.5V, the pump will power on and resume normal charging. Do not attempt to force-boot the device from a deeply discharged state.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Infusomat fmS shows a low battery alarm straight after charging the new replacement — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The Infusomat's BMS stores a voltage threshold calibrated to the original factory cell, and a new Ni-MH cell reads slightly low on its first charge because the BMS hasn't completed a learn cycle on the new chemistry. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle before clinical use — the alarm clears once the BMS registers the new cell's actual capacity profile.

The pump shuts off unexpectedly during infusion in the first few days after fitting the replacement battery — what's happening?

New Ni-MH cells have elevated internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, and the Infusomat's load profile during active infusion draws enough current to cause a temporary voltage sag that trips the BMS low-voltage cutoff. This is not a wiring or installation fault. Cycle the battery three to five times under normal pump operation — internal resistance drops and the sag narrows. If shutdowns continue past the tenth cycle, check the cell voltage under load; it should stay above 6.0V during active infusion.

The charge indicator on the Infusomat won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — is the charger seeing the wrong cell?

The pump's charge IC applies a conservative upper limit when it encounters a cell it hasn't profiled yet, which is standard behaviour on medical-grade charge controllers. It is not misidentifying the cell. Let the first charge run to completion without removing the battery — the IC logs the cell's charge acceptance curve on that first cycle. On the second charge, the indicator will reach 100% and charge termination will behave normally.
