Fits Mindray MEC-1000 portable patient monitor, replaces OEM battery for this clinical vital signs unit.
11.1V, 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for continuous ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature monitoring.
Connector type and orientation match the MEC-1000 battery slot exactly; verify seating until the locking tab clicks fully.
We bench tested this cell on the MEC-1000 charge circuit; BMS handshake completed normally, no fault codes on boot.
After installation, allow the monitor to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices verify battery compatibility at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindray MEC-1000 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 11.1V 3400mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Mindray MEC-1000 portable patient monitor. The MEC-1000 is used in clinical environments for continuous vital signs monitoring including ECG, SpO2, and blood pressure. Keeping a charged spare on hand supports uninterrupted monitoring during transport and shift changes.

  • MEC-1000 platform fit: The MEC-1000 uses a dedicated battery bay with a three-cell 11.1V configuration. The BMS on this monitor performs a handshake at startup to verify cell chemistry and voltage range before allowing normal operation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the MEC-1000 startup sequence and confirmed the BMS handshake completed without fault. The charge IC accepted the cell and advanced through all charge stages to termination.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the MEC-1000 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification pass at boot — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the MEC-1000 flags a battery fault after a confirmed full charge

The MEC-1000 BMS compares incoming cell data against a learned threshold profile built from previous cycles. A new cell with no cycle history has no profile, so the BMS applies a conservative limit and may flag a fault even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a defect in the replacement cell. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle outside clinical use, and the BMS will build a baseline profile that clears the fault condition on subsequent charges.

MEC-1000 will not power on after battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. If this battery sat in a warehouse or storage room for several months before installation, its resting voltage may have dropped below the MEC-1000 BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack. The BMS will refuse to initiate a charge cycle or boot the device when the cell voltage is below this floor. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it for 30–60 minutes; most charge ICs include a trickle pre-charge stage that recovers cells down to approximately 2.5V per cell before handing off to the main charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MEC-1000 is alarming low battery less than an hour after I fitted a fully charged replacement — what's happening?

The MEC-1000 BMS sets its low-battery alarm threshold against a learned cell profile. A new cell with no cycle history hasn't passed the BMS learn cycle, so the monitor treats it as a degraded cell and trips the alarm early even though capacity is present. Run one full charge-discharge cycle outside patient use — charge to 100%, allow the device to draw the pack down to automatic cutoff, then recharge fully. After that cycle, the BMS will have a baseline and the alarm threshold will track correctly.

The charge indicator on the MEC-1000 stopped climbing at around 85% and won't reach 100% — is the battery faulty?

This is a first-charge behaviour from the charge IC, not a cell defect. On an unrecognised new cell, the charge controller applies a conservative current limit and may terminate early at a reduced state-of-charge to protect against overcharge on an uncalibrated cell. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle, then recharge the pack — the charge IC will recalibrate its termination voltage and the indicator should reach 100% on the second charge.

The MEC-1000 shut off mid-use during the first week after fitting the new battery — nothing unusual was happening at the time.

New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles before the electrolyte fully wets the electrode surfaces. Under the MEC-1000's monitoring load — which spikes during alarm events, display backlight, and wireless telemetry transmissions — voltage can sag enough to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff even when the cell is not depleted. The pack will recover after a brief rest and a full recharge. This behaviour typically resolves after 5–10 complete cycles; if cutoffs continue past cycle 10, check the resting cell voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 12.4V.
