Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hidizs AP80 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHT354053)
This is a 3.7V 700mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Hidizs AP80 portable digital audio player. It replaces OEM part AHT354053 and fits directly into the AP80 chassis. Capacity figure is sourced from product data at 2.59Wh.
- AP80 platform fit: The AP80 uses a compact LiPo cell on a shared power rail that feeds both the DAC stage and the amplifier output simultaneously. That dual load means the BMS trips faster than most single-load portables, so cell dimensions and rated voltage must match exactly — 52.50 x 34.30 x 3.80mm at 3.7V nominal.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the AP80's charging circuit and monitored BMS handshake across both low-gain and high-gain output states. The protection circuit engaged correctly at cutoff voltage and accepted a full charge without thermal event.
- First-cycle gain setting: Run the AP80 at low gain for the first full charge cycle. High gain draws peak current from an uncalibrated cell and can trigger a premature BMS cutoff before the cell reaches its rated delivery capacity.
AP80 shutting off before the battery indicator reaches empty
The AP80's amplifier stage requires a higher minimum operating voltage than the display's fuel gauge is calibrated to show. When a degraded or new uncalibrated cell starts sagging under load, the amp rail drops below its minimum threshold while the screen still shows one or two bars. This is not a firmware bug — it is voltage sag under the combined DAC and amp draw. After fitting a fresh cell, run two full charge-discharge cycles at low gain to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell's actual discharge curve.
AP80 audio clipping or distortion at moderate volume on a fresh battery
Clipping on a new cell usually means the BMS is tripping momentarily under the instantaneous current spike that the output stage demands at higher signal peaks. This is distinct from a flat battery — the device stays on but the audio breaks up. The AP80's output stage can pull short bursts of current that exceed what an unconditioned cell delivers cleanly. Charge the cell fully, then play pink noise at 60% volume for one full discharge before using high-gain or high-volume output.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AP80 gets noticeably warm during long listening sessions — is that the battery or the amp circuit?
Both contribute, but the battery is the larger factor at sustained output. A LiPo cell under continuous discharge generates heat as internal resistance rises, and the AP80's amp stage adds its own efficiency losses on top of that. A swollen or aged cell increases internal resistance further, which pushes heat up faster. If the case is warm to the point of discomfort, check that the cell isn't physically bulging — a bulging LiPo should be replaced immediately regardless of remaining charge.
My AP80 drains much faster at high gain than I expected — is the new battery faulty?
It is not faulty. Output power on the AP80 scales directly with gain setting — high gain means the amplifier is drawing significantly more current from the 700mAh cell to drive the output stage. That is normal behaviour, not a cell defect. The 2.59Wh capacity is a fixed figure; higher current draw simply exhausts it faster. If drain at low gain also seems abnormal, check that the cell seated fully and that the connector is making clean contact before assuming a fault.
The AP80 won't turn on after the battery sat unused for several months — how do I recover it?
A LiPo cell left discharged for months can drop below the BMS's minimum re-initialisation threshold, typically around 2.5V. The protection circuit will block charging to prevent damage, which makes the device appear completely dead. Connect the AP80 to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charger's trickle stage should bring the cell voltage up enough for the BMS to re-enable. If the device still shows no charging indication after 30 minutes, the cell has discharged below recovery threshold and replacement is required.
